There is no way that any government in Europe can be seen to be following American instructions pertaining to their foreign policy. AIPAC have made a major mistake, if they thought that Assad gassing a few people in Syria would change European attitudes towards Israel. The fact is boycotting the settlements will gain politicians in Europe more votes than it will lose, that is why they have done it.

Maybe Netanyahu is nogotiating seriously with the Palestinians, however bizarre and far-fetched that may sound.

This boycott like all the other anti-Israel boycott attempts serves no productive purpose. They do not help the Palestinians, seek to harm Israel but mainly, feed a political agenda. I'd like to see you elaborate on this to identify which European politicians are using this boycott to gain votes.

Make a stand against the settlers and those that profit through land theft. Israel needs to learn that we have had enough of them!

17. To nr 15: 4000 years of Jewish history makes us "settlers"?
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (09.07.13)
We Jews have lived for 4000 years in Israel unlike White European Christian Anglo-Saxon settlers in Australia. "Theft" means taking something whish isn't yours. Australia is not originally yours. Israel is originally, historically, now in the present and in the future, our Jewish homeland. We Jews have lived for thousands of years in Israel long before, Europe, USA, Australia, Latin America, Canada, Western civilization, Russia, Turkey, the Arabs and the Moslems even existed. You had enough of what exactly?

Ivor Evenbiggergun   (09.07.13)
It is a fairly simple concept even for an American. More people support a boycott preventing EU taxpayers money funding the settlements in the West Bank than oppose. Therefore if a politician proposes stopping spending taxpayers money in the West Bank to subsidise the occupation then they will gain the support of those taxpayers who are also voters. I hope you understand it a little more clearly now. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you the arrangements between the EUropean Union and Israel proper have not changed

The EU does not fund the settlements. They purchase products from settlement employers. The same employers that provide the biggest source of employment for the Palestinians. These Palestinians also depend on settlement products for their livelihood. So if the EU doesn't purchase products from the settlements, they will need to purchase them elsewhere and perhaps at higher prices for lower quality products. Meanwhile, the Israelis will diversify and expand to other markets. Perhaps even to more lucrative markets. Life goes on with EU or without EU. Your reasoning behind a boycott is totally flawed and shallow. Further, It makes no sense to punish the country that does more for the Palestinians than any EU country.
22. If PA supports this- I do
dan ,   ks   (09.07.13)
Without Israeli companies and settlement building on the west bank, the PALESTINIAN unemployment will go from 50% to 95%. If the EU wants the residents to be unemployed here, let them (the EU) employ them in Europe.
23. punish all eu firms who pull out. stop agreements with eu
ralph   (09.07.13)
stop giving power etc to pa until eu pays bills up to date. and form relationships with asian companies. i have been saying for a long time eu is dead men walking. they are barren dead past. asia, china, india south korea is our future. eu is dead men walking. they want science and business agreements with us because we are vibrant alive smart. they are dead. energy-less and have no future.
24. #15 Well well, an Australian who rants against land theft,
A ,   Belgium   (09.07.13)
and believes that Australia is part of Europe. Why don't you return your head to that certain part of a kangaroos body that you apparantly pulled it out of, mate?
25. Let's ban the EU
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.08.13)
Ban all 'NGOs' that the EU controls and all funding in Judea and Samaria period. It will cost the EU a lot more than us when we boycott them - like the tune of over 20 billion Euros a year. Until the EU countries end all their occupations around the world they should not be allowed to make any money from Israel
26. Forget Europe, the future is in the East

27. #24 You don't make sense
Darren Ben John ,   Townsville Australia   (09.08.13)
Australia has never claimed to be part of Europe. You on the other hand are European and claim that you have been part of the ME for 4,000 years! Baw ha ha!!
28. #27 Well, dingo, let's analyze what you wrote:
A ,   Belgium   (09.09.13)
"Don't Give In Europe! " "we have had enough of them (Israel)", written by Darren Ben John , Townsville Australia . So who are the "we" that you are speaking for actually... Europe? Australia, or your own schizophrenic self? Looks to me that you really consider Australia part of Europe. It isn't. And you couldn't answer my association of land theft and Australia, as your country is based on land theft, murder and the subjecation and discrimination against the native inhabitants, not unlike the United States.
