1. The hell is this?!
Jonas ,   Europe   (09.10.13)
We here, in pause between shachrit and mincha sit, talk, play various games of cards (not for money and not any games that require bet or anything - namely, UNO is very popular!) etc. Why the hell you cannot tell scores?! It's just TELL???
2. Alabama and Auburn Football
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (09.10.13)
I can vouch for the fact that a lot of good Jewish people will suffer and suffer greatly, if this article is correct. Alabama and Auburn football are the religion in the State of Alabama. Trust me to know. I was married to an Auburn alumnus, whose way through college was a football scholarship. As if that hadn't been enough, he had been a US Marine, too, whose own birthday as well as that of the US Marine Corps was 11-10. November was a totally confusing month for me. I didn't know which to do first: march around the kitchen table singing "From the halls of Montezuma" first or do "Happy Birtthday." Thank heaven that the mother of all days, e. g. the Auburn-Alabama football game usually happens later. On that day, there are no Jews, Christians, Muslims, Agnostics or Atheists in the State of Alabama. On that day there are only Alabama fans or Auburn fans.
3. #1 It's the rabbi or the president of the synagogue...

They do not want to know. They are recording the game. So make up this little threat so he won't find out by mistake.
4. righty...
Avital   (09.10.13)
"Saturday, September 14, is a big football day. Some of Temple Emanu-El, and all of the clergy, are college football fans. It is because of our support the past seven National Championships have been won by the Southeastern Conference and, the last four, in Alabama. No inflated sense of self importance here, mind you......
5. 1 2 3. Yom kippour is the day...
Robert ,   Antwerp Belgium   (09.10.13)
where God gives mankind as individuals or groups a last chance to "influence" his judgment through prayer and fasting. Imagine that you are in a regular court about to be judged . The judge has to decide wether there are reasons to be lenient or not and all you want to do , in front of him, is talk football. Just think how the judge would react and even more so God, who judges us all
6. Lol, Jonathan... :)
Jonas ,   Europe   (09.11.13)
You are up to the point, I guess... :) Weeeell, knowing peeps in my community, if we had the similar situation, that WOULD be the suffering. Water? No problem. Food? Who cares. Non-leather shoes? Give me a break. No creams on body? Lol, we don't put it anyways. No sex? We will survive. No football championships. ... ... NOW WAIT A MINUTE!
7. #6..that made me laugh! As if most

guys can go even a few minutes, let along 24 hrs and not talk football. That game itself is a religion of sorts. Wonder what else they will come up with in the "not to do's"... they still have time before the fast. I beleive...you are a good person, do mitzvot, kind to animals and loving things are on your is your agenda, not hateful things...then you even if you peep a footy thing, G-d will still bless you...Gmar Hatima tova.
