31. Robert , historical facts are not tora tales
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.16.13)
It was not a god who opened the doors of Egypt , it was not a god who split the sea . Yes , the Kotel was a part of a religious building , but BELONGS to all Jews , seculars included . All places in Israel are part of our History , even the remains of old synagogues . In the same way as places were i lived in Antwerp are a part of my history , but my history does not need some nice tales . Regarding persecutions , i told you , during the Shoa converts were also murdered . When the crusaders were on their way to Jerusalem , they murdered Jews , without asking them to convert , the same in other places . You said that we share our love for Israel . Yes , if you exept the many ultra orthodox , and the many who claim it , but stay begalut . I , a secular live in Israel now , what about the thousands of other Jews of Antwerp ?

34. 31 Charles, you don't seem to...
robert ,   antwerp belgium   (09.17.13)
understand what I'm saying. I'm not discussing wether God did split or not the sea. I believe he did, you don't. I'm saying that Jews died all over the world first because they believed In God and that he saved them from Egypt. Those who did not believe or yielded to the pressure converted, certainly in the middle ages. With the holocaust it was different, the germans made no distinction. The crusaders sometimes gave the choice sometimes not. But overall , certainly in the muslim countries, a choice was given. Anyway, you live in Israƫl, I have two kids who do and I hope to follow them. As for the orthodox, some of them are misguided

Yes there were Jews who prefered to die over conversion , no doubt about this . I don't remember exactly where i have read it , but Jews in moslim countries were murdered when the situation of the ruler went bad , and Jews were then the scapegoats . Without any choice . Jews were always expelled when the general situation was bad , so the ruler could take their belongings . You certainly know that MOST of the ultra Orthodox opposed the creation of the State because of RELIGION . And i'll tell you that most of those who gave their blood for our country were seculars , if not anti religious .

far more orthodox boys than atheists gave their blood for Israel.
