I get inspired by the Theory of Relativity and pictures of the Cosmos. Why rely on what people invented and never get a reply to prayers?

That's because man needed to control masses and have a cohesive power between strangers.
Read "from animals to gods" by Yuval Noah Harari.

Harari is correct and many other authors who wrote in the same vein on this subject. Karl Marx said it probably the best, or is the most often quoted: "Religion is the opium of the people" since it makes the masses drunk and submissive. Now we'll watch the rabbis subjugate religious Israelis on Yom Kippur, every year the same shigaon.

We most certainly do not ask for god's repentance! We offer god our repentance and ask for his forgiveness. I would not imagine god has much to repent for...that is unless of course you blame him for the sick shit perpetrated in his name daily by people all over the world.
