1. those who are kind to the cruel
ari ,   israel   (09.16.13)
end up being cruel to the kind
2. Syria
jackie williams ,   kansas   (09.16.13)
Our current president and administration is not trusted by the population. Therefore, we do not support any action with Syria. Too many believe that the current administration has already had a hand in what is happening.....much to our dislike. There is very little trust or faith in the current administration and it's ability to lead properly.
3. what human rights?
(09.16.13)
Obama and his British waterboys was not sensitive to human rights when they droned Afghan weddings. Obama and his British waterboys were not sensitive to human rights when they destroyed Libya and its civilian infrastructure so they could get a Jihad government. Obama was not sensitive to human rights when he allied himself with Jihad to genocide the Alawi and Christians of Syria. Thanks to Obama, there are 6 million refugees and more than 100,000 dead, with no end in sight. There is no evidence that the West cares about human rights.
4. 3 right
(09.16.13)
the usa only cares about oil! period! humans are secondary as they always were.
5. yes lets all go to war
ky   (09.16.13)
Bomb the hell out of Assad and anyone else you think threatens you. Then lock up the left wingers, shut them up. Get rid of Obama. Then you will be free to make war and find yourself in the deepest underground shelter that you can find living on k rations. Your teeth and hair may be falling out but you will be happy and smiling your toothless smile knowing that you were not soft.
6. #4 I disagree
(09.16.13)
The United States is the greatest nation on earth and the American people the most generous. The US is a shining beacon that brings hope to all people for two reasons: The Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. Based on these two documents, the US could help bring world peace, save lives and bring freedom and liberty to all peoples. The problem with the US is corrupt, fanatic and arrogant leaders like Obama who drag this great nation into third-world.
7. you are fired
alexi   (09.16.13)
Israel has learned nothing. PA leaks from peace talks indicate the contrary to bibi's demand that an idf long term presence be had on the jordan valley since the palestinians can never ever be trusted with security, livni has gone against bibi indicating to palestinians that she supports their positions that idf withdraw from the jordan valley. If this is so, then she should be fired at once. Bibi will do it because he is weak as hell, utterly weak and he makes israel look like a banana republic.
8. # 5 ky Muslims are doing that all by themselves
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (09.16.13)
How many Muslims have other Muslims murdered so far? Has any one counted all of them? Africa, and so many Muslim nations who are rebelling against their dictator 'leaders' who'd rather kill them than offer them freedom. War? let them have at it, it's their battle not ours.
9. obamas problem has always been a desire to be liked
zionist forever   (09.16.13)
Obama problem from the start is he likes to be non confrontational. Its what he promised to the islamic world in 2008, a new less confrontational America that wants to be a friend to the islamic world. He just wants the world to like him and that means avoid doing anything controversial and stay away from conflict. For a time if looked like Obama was going to act presidential when he started talking about strikes on Syria but Putin offered him a way out, he took it and now Putin looks like the hero and Obama looks like the weak president he is. In 2016 I just hope the US is influential in world affairs and Obama will not have just decided to avoid political or military confrontations he will let the likes of Putin make the decisions and he ail just go along with it. America need a new and strong president.
10. Perplexing message of a drama queen.
Miron ,   USA   (09.16.13)
Regarding purchase of your silence, we are not rich enough to buy cheap staff.
11. using military force you are killing people, not protecting
Albrecht ,   EU   (09.16.13)
using military force means - kill people, not "protect" them. Nothing learned from Iraq?
12. The UN charged with Crimes Against Humanity
Tova ,   Canada   (09.16.13)
Close the UN - they are killing the civilians. the world has so much fear against Islam - they just the killing continue. The western nations no longer have power over regimes like Syria or any Arab nations. China, Russia and Islam is ruling the world. Abolish the UN - charge them with crimes against humanity. Israel is the only nation in the world that understands Life and the conseqences of war. Obama speaks and his words go no where.
13. Reluctance
Kyle ,   USA   (09.16.13)
Israelis should count themselves lucky the US is hesitant to use force to insure human rights. Otherwise, life might become uncomfortable for you when we aree securing the human rights of Palestinians.
14. And the Right hasn't understood that...
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (09.16.13)
...you can't condemn - and act against! - SOME human rights offences (Halabja, Damascus, North Korea etc.) while completely ignoring others (Cairo [August 2013], Uzbekistan, Guantanamo, Chile [1973], Vietnam, Saudi Arabia etc.) But I'm hopeful, one day the Right will also understand that hypocrisy harms credibility.
15. damned if we do
damned if we don't   (09.16.13)
Aljazeera had an article ayear ago wondering why West had not intervened in Syria last week had an article against intervention the Arab league should be the ones screaming about Syria and they should intervene but they won't because they know it is a no win situation unless you kill ALL the fighters in Syria.
16. Left has learned nothing from Syria crisis
George Weiss ,   Teaneck, USA   (09.16.13)
As a group there is no people that is more discriminatory, oppressive and cruel than that of the Arabs. That is one reason the West is having such a hard time chosing btween Assad and the rebels. they are both very bad people. But, of course, it is not politically correct to say any of these. So the blame always has to be placed somewhere else.
17. LEFT ? WHAT LEFT ?
israeli paratrooper   (09.16.13)
dear sir , why do you bother with the israeli left ? it is now a minority on the street and in the Knesset . the illusion of oslo has been revealed for what it is : an illusion . israel's future belongs to the political center that has attracted most of the historical zionist right and center left . today's zionist left is really the old far left .
18. In norwegian discussions with leftist...
Beary White ,   Norway   (09.16.13)
..I am a racist :-), why?? because I dare to tell the truth about of the islamic cult... ..and how the current leftist government does not allow pig-drawings in the children-garden, ..and how "Norwegians# Christians are not allowed to wear neckless' with cross or David star, just to not offend muslims!!! But the Islamic followers are allowed to use head vails, burkas, and have big mustaches and beards (Islamic signs..)... This is what Norway has become, and how it is on its way to get an arab spring in some decades..and then an Islamic vasall-state.
19. August 1914 Fears
Zechariah   (09.17.13)
There is a balance between fear of WMD proliferation and WW3 or A Cycle of Violence. So it's going to fall on The USA Russia China and the Saudis to sort out a truce like trance for a few decades to allow education or Propoganda reduce the Hates. Its not Left or Right it's Patience and Benevolence and Survivalism.
20. Strange bedfellows...
David V. ,   Sydney   (09.17.13)
...the Left and the Far Right in many countries sympathise with Assad for their own twisted but similar aims, and with anti-Semitism central to it.
21. Have the Left learnt anything at all by History itself ?.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (09.17.13)
- If they did, they would leave their Leftist Ideology . Arn.Sweden.
22. Load of right-wing garbage
Shachar ,   Eilat   (09.17.13)
The very genetics of being right-wing is a total refusal to learn anything, at any time under any circumstances. No matter what the situation, the same old tired sound-bites are dredged out. It's always the left's fault even when all the gov'ts are right-wing gov'ts. Cameron's right wing gov't refused to bomb Syria because of the left, Germany's right wing gov't ditto. Only Obama and Hollande were prepared to step in... where are all the rightists????
23. Nr.18.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (09.17.13)
In Sweden there are Muslim Prayer Rooms in the Hospitals but, Christians are not allowed to pray in Hospitals at all. Arn.Sweden.
24. #22 alinsky in action
(09.17.13)
The Left never has a real response because they do not have a reality just spin and self-invented narrative. Instead of a serious comment, #22 follows Alinsky's principles with a meaningless ad hominem attack on a strawman he himself made. #22: Rosenfeld has a personal opinion (shared by a few Right wingers like Uri Ariel, but mostly by the Leftist Obama supporters) that Obama should have attacked Syria. Rosenfeld represents only himself and certainly not some Rightwing boogeyman you have invented. Cameron (Obama's lapdog) and Hague (UK's Barak) were the only British who wanted to attack because Obama told them to. The British government, parliament and people (Left and Right) were soldily against an attack due to their bitter experiences with Obama in Afghanistan and Libya, and the fact that Cameron never articulated what the point of such an attack was.
25. By the same token...
Michael ,   Haifa   (09.18.13)
....right wing fascists only learn what they are told to learn...they don't even possess freedom of thought
26. #24 good joke
huck ,   Oakland California   (09.19.13)
"The British government, parliament and people (Left and Right) were soldily against an attack due to their bitter experiences with Obama in Afghanistan and Libya." Yes, due to their experiences woth Obama in Libya. And not Bush in Iraq or Afghanistan. Right, Obama.
27. the Western sensitivities to Human rights
tiki ,   belgium   (09.19.13)
Are non existent! The West only 'say they care about human rights....in their parliaments, from their media desks and maybe in demonstrations The only real Western concern is losing their wealth & lifestyle (or what is left of it).
28. If I can add one more thing:
Matthew ,   Oakwood,GA   (09.20.13)
We don't know why we support Israel. Syria doesn't seem to threaten us, and Iran doesn't seem to threaten us. When our politicians and experts talk about this subject on TV they say that these rogue states threaten our "interests." It seems like code language for Israel, because they don't seem to mean oil. Or at least oil is only one of our interests. But us Americans, the average American, most of us aren't particularly Christian anymore. Some people are Zionist, but we don't know why we should be. We barely know any facts or information about your country and why we should protect it. Your country is virtually unknown to the U.S.
29. What do you want us to do?
Matthew ,   oakwood,ga   (09.20.13)
We couldn't even be sure who fired the missiles. So it became a question of whether to attack both sides or just stay out. Since our economy is doing EXTREMELY BAD we didn't want to further destroy ourselves with more war.
30. "...worrying sign of the downfall of West"
Christy ,   Boston, US   (09.22.13)
Don't know why so many people are acting like 'chicken littles' about the US/West. It's not the 'end of civilization as we know it'. Basically, this wasn't our fight. However, I'm waiting to see what any other nation - who would care about human rights (as it's claimed the US doesn't) - will do. At the very least I think a Muslim country in the region would want to intervene and bring in humanitarian aid. Stop pointing fingers at the US. There are other countries in the world who could act. Why aren't they?
