.... but they didn't crash land the plane. They probably could have landed it safely. The U.S. president ordered the plane shot down by missles. In his book, which was published after his presidency ended, he writes that ordering the plane shot down was the the most difficult decision he ever had to make.

All of the heroic stories to the contrary, most evidence points to the fact that the plane was shot down. This particular story is unbelievable--no weapons? no ammunition? at counter ops? At Andrews Air Force Base? Sure.

As did the passengers on flight 93. G_d bless them....

I'm surprised that we didn't/don't have F-16's armed to the teeth and ready to go up immediately. Maybe that's changed since 9/11.

American's are a grand mix of all free people yearning to stay that way. Individuals ready to do what it takes to be the greatest nation on earth, next to Israel. G-d bless her her fellow pilot willing to die for liberty and to save others. G-b bless Israel, G-d help America.

where, where did you ever read even a hint of the plane being shot down, or any tiny bit of “evidence”? Get real.

The article is overly dramatic. There was no need for a suicide mission. Both pilots had time to plan a non-suicidal attack while heading to the target: one pilot lines up the fighter jet, approaching from the rear (where the terrorists can't spot them), lines up one wing with the Flight 93's vertical stabilizer and then accelerates with afterburners and flies one F-16 wing diagonally into it, cutting it off. Then he/she hits their ejector seat immediately and rockets out of the doomed F-16. Of course, without the vertical stabilizer Flt. 93 also crashes. With both planes heading in the same direction, relative speeds can be easily reduced to accurately sheer off the vertical stabilizer. The fighter pilot simply floats down in her/his parachite while Flt 93 goes down. No kamikaze mission here, just a lot of drama in the article.
