1. Yes Orly: after that Obama will engineer flying pigs!

2. Absolutely. No. Credibility.
Gideon Reader   (09.15.13)
3. The American president, Putin and the muslim leaders ...
J Galt ,   Hidden Valley, USA   (09.15.13)
have everything in common. No, the muslim leaders and Putin do not fear America. In fact they have worked together to reveal the true "community organizer" in the oval office. While doing this they have also demonstrated the "world leader" capabilities the current holder of the oval office lacks. American is all the less for this (but then we elected our current leader two times). The community organizer, Putin and the muslim leaders have fear in common. This fear comes from there understanding of Israel and the knowledge that Israel is the "apple of God's eye." All three despise Elohim and as a result despise Israel. Israel will survive the apathy of the American leader and the hatred of Putin and his useful idiots the muslims. In the end Israel will win by the hand of Elohim. The community organizer, Putin and the muslims will be duly rewarded for their wrath.

5. What that aggreemet says to Iran
Nora Tel Aviv   (09.15.13)
This agreement on Syria actually is written on...water. It means one thing to Iran. That from now on, they have lots and lots of time ahead without being disturbed by Obama. Nowadays, the last word is not said by Obama but by Putin.
6. really Orly?
(09.15.13)
What about the 6 million and rising refugees in Syria? And the continued fighting with no end in sight? Will Obama watch as Assad uses thermobaric weapons on Syrian children?
7. The Obamateur...just keeps digging himself ..
Malone ,   Hfx   (09.15.13)
..in deeper and deeper.Zero credibility, the laughing stock of the world just keeps bumbling along...a legend in his own mind..just love the expressions he puts on his face trying to look "Presidential".He is so far in over his head,it's hilarious...or would be if he wasn't so dangerous.
8. Orly is a Radical Leftist from Obama Husseins camp!!
Father Abe   (09.15.13)
She lives in the same fantasy land that the rest of the Leftists live. Reality and Putin will teach these Leftist idiots a lesson they will never forget.

Ariel ,   Europe   (09.15.13)
You really should quit smoking that stuff, because it shows.
10.  Pathetic & Myopic
Joe Rutledge ,   Medford , Or.   (09.16.13)
The article is really naieve attempt to explain Obama ' fickless conduct .When Assad use dthe chemical weapons he was desperate but he or anybody else will never have guessed how it work so well for him .Listening to his interview earlier today , he didnot mention that Assad has to go , and he gave Iran a valuable hint : reduce your sharp ugly against Israel , he is prepared to ease in the reality : accept Iran as a full fledged nuclear power with commitment not to use it against Israel . The Iranian have grasped the issue and chose a deceptive public relation president to pass the final stage for nuclearization . Obama the liberal managed to ignore the death of about 120 0000 Syrians for the promise to dismantle weapons thar are easy to hide and easier to remake .shame on America
11. Syrian WMD won't be destroyed
Dan   (09.16.13)
Let's get real. Just as Saddam trucked his WMD to Syria while Bush made real threats, Assad is trucking them back to Iraq (under Russian and Iranian supervision) while Obama makes false ones. A token amount will be handed over for destruction but everyone Assad wants to intimidate will be given access to the truth. Keep the gas masks handy, Israel.
12. Wrong timing, wrong priorities
Alan ,   Canada   (09.16.13)
If the subtitle of the article represents the timetable of the US administration, then Iran is going to be nuclear before long. The process of dismantling Syria's chemical weapon arsenal (if it occurs) is going to likely be a stretched out affair with several new Red Lines broken by tricky Bashar Assad. So waiting for the successful completion of the process to then turn to Iran's major challenge & possibly acting only with the blessing of the stalled UN Security Council is a recipe for sure failure. Syria is currently a pawn of Iran which pays for the Russian, Chinese & North Korean weapons & technology, Cutting off the Iranian money flow one way or an other is a priority which also harms the nuclear program. As long as Iran will seek to extend its power & influence outside its borders under its current fanatic regime & as long as it can finance it, it remains a grave danger surpassing the risk in Syria & in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The ambitions of Syria's despot are limited to keeping his mafia family's hold on the profitable racketeering of the country. The ambitions of the Iranian radical Islamists are far greater & far more dangerous outside the country borders.
13. Talk Is Cheap
Dan ,   USA   (09.16.13)
Iran will have a nuclear weapon and delivery system during Oblama's presidency. He will do nothing at all to stop it. It is my belief he doesn't really care if they have it as he wants to weaken America and care nothing for Israel.
14. Obama will do nothing but read from a teleprompter.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.16.13)
It would be nice if Azoulay was joking. She has absolutely no grasp on reality. Obama is not going to disarm Syria. Let alone Iran. He will simply do the only thing he can do. Read from a teleprompter. It is entirely up to Israel to destroy Iran's nukes.
15. A little gratitude is in order
Canadian Dude ,   Canada   (09.16.13)
Obama just clinched a deal which removes the single biggest existing threat to Israel's security (Assad's WMD's), and Israel doesn't even have to bat an eyelash in return. What's with all the talkbackers and opinion writers treating this like a diplomatic disaster? You would have preferred to see Obama take the bombing route and hope none of Assad's chemical scuds find their way over to Tel Aviv? Most of you seem like you want Assad in power anyhow, lest Jabhat al Nusra were to take charge, and now you've got him on a leash with his fangs slated for removal. From an Israeli standpoint, what more could they possibly want Obama to accomplish in the region? What more could he possibly hope to accomplish on his own, anyhow? Israel's security outlook just got a whole lot better and Iran might be next to stand down, so maybe Israelis should send Obama a word of thanks for once. Maybe some of you just don't like what he's doing in the region, because it reduces the threat to you and thus the excuses you can draw from to misbehave in the West Bank.
16. OB moving onto Iran! Don't be stupid.
DT ,   TA Israel   (09.16.13)
(end)
17. #15 Don't be so naive. Just because Obama gives a speech,
a ,   canada   (09.16.13)
and they have a deal to destroy Syria's chemical weapons does not mean those weapons have in fact been destroyed. They probably will never actually be destroyed. Obama is being deluded by his own false hopes that he has actually accomplished something. And he is willing to take that delusion further to convince himself that he has solved the Iran problem as well.
18. The only person in the world that Obama is fooling into
al ,   canada   (09.16.13)
believing that he has solved the chemical weapons problem of Syria, is himself.
19. They all see it for the dubious game it spun down into, #15
Cameron ,   USA   (09.16.13)
Handled badly with an exceedingly doubtful outcome.
20. Usual Obama lip service
Yaniv ,   Israel   (09.16.13)
21. Hi Orly, I have a few questions:
Israeli 2   (09.16.13)
Will those chemical weapons be destroyed? And if so, how much? 10%? 50%? Putin just told Teheran to go ahead with their nuclear program. My question here is how dares Obama to tell Iran otherwise? After all, they are both comrades now. My point is that it sounds like a sweet dream come true if Syria and Iran so very easily agree and comply. Do you think that they will?
22. #21 - It does NOT matter if the CW are destroyed
spyguy ,   seattle   (09.16.13)
Because they will NOT be in Syria, but in Russia at the same site where Russian has many tons more of the stuff that is slowly being neutralized by Russian technicians per the US/Russia CW treaty. Russia is NOT going to let Assad screw around because Russia wants the CW OUT of Syria, NOW.
23. Re #17, #18, #19, #21
Canadian Dude ,   Canada   (09.16.13)
The details are still being finalized, and Assad's scheduled to formally accept it one month from now (allegedly, inspectors are to begin their work immediately even before Assad signs the deal). The US has repeatedly stated that the military option remains on the table in case Assad fails to comply or attempts to delay. They have hundreds of warships at their disposal, it won't be an issue for them to park a few ships off the Syrian coast whenever they're needed again. Furthermore, now that the diplomatic approach is being given a fair chance, if it fails there will be less excuses for US allies to withhold an attack. If Assad backs away from the deal or stalls, and Obama doesn't react accordingly, then you guys would have every reason to be upset. Until then, you shouldn't complain about a deal with virtually universal backing from all the relevant parties, that promises to eliminate Syria's WMD's without a single shot being fired towards or from Israel. 30+ years of military buildup, and this is all Syria has to show for it in the end, quietly handing it all over. Those chemical weapons were the backbone for Muslim extremists' hopes of toppling Israel and eliminating Jews from the region, but soon diplomacy will be the only option they have left.

Fahd Alharbyn ,   Madina , KSA   (09.16.13)
Yoummake sound the whole purpose of the Syrian up rising was to acquire CW to. Destroy Israel . It is wrong and immoral to say that , actually the Syrian opposition is not against Israel it is gainst Assad criminal gang , and they know they need years to rebuild Syria , moreover, they know that the pretext for Assad was the front with Israel, they been there , it doesnot feed the children or make bread . Itis Hizballah who is really anxious to get hold of these weapons .
25. The Next Stop Is
Brett ,   Florida   (09.16.13)
Israel. The only country that Obama can bully nowadays. Netanyahu, grow a backbone will ya?
26. #15, he hasn't done anything yet
Danny   (09.16.13)
27. Re #24: Misunderstanding
Canadian Dude ,   Canada   (09.16.13)
My comments were only referring to the Assad regime and its activities, not to the Syrian people per se, my apologies for not being more clear. I personally sympathize with the secular portions of the Syrian rebellion and hope they topple Assad, even if it means Israel will have to relinquish the Golan Heights for peace once the war's over. But all the same, there's only so much the West can do directly, even though most of the world despises Assad. Israel can't get involved on the rebels' side without putting itself at severe risk (both militarily and diplomatically), and it's vital that any Syrian rebel victory be seen as a people's victory and not America's or Qatar's. At least with the chemical weapons gone, according to the schedule, Assad loses his biggest deterrent against foreign intervention by mid-2014, who knows what happens after that point? In the meantime, it looks like the US is finally stepping up its aid to the FSA and General Idriss, and that's exactly where Western efforts should be focussed. Until Assad agrees to a genuine ceasefire and negotiations, western countries shouldn't feel ashamed to match Russian aid dollar for dollar, bullet for bullet.
28. Obama and Iran
Jack-Troy ,   USA   (09.17.13)
This piece is just wishful thinking. Iran is a huge country with the total support of Non-aligned nations which are still doing business with Iran. They told Obama in no uncertain term not to attack Iran More likely the Yahu will blink first and get out the West bank

Well said , thank you for the clarification .That is why Saudi Arabia is backing the free Syrian army who were met senators Mcain and Graham .KSA and US had bad expirence managing the Afganistan. Where they dropped the ball , so close cooperation is indespensible .But to take it to the isolatioiasit myopic. View and say we have nothing to with lie the Obama admin lately is only to allow Putin to make circles around the US and westrenm world and their friends
