Think on a US naval base they don't have lots of guns? A lone shooter cans still shoot lots of people by surprise before anyone can unhulster and shoot. How many people would be dead and injured if all he could get was a knife? What kind of a place is it to live where everyone has to be armed in fear? I heard a Naval Commander describe how he ran for cover when a fellow standing near him was shot dead. If this is the caliber of officer being produced by the American Naval Academy then America is in deep trouble. My son who is a tank commander in the IDF was taught that he must defend his men at all costs including his own life. He is never to abandon his tank till such time that everyone is out and safe.

The rules of war are clear. They have ALWAYS been clear. If you wage a war of aggression and you lose, there are consequences, however unpleasant. You worry about people being armed in fear when what you should worry about is people being forced to be unarmed in fear like in Hitlers Germany. Washington D.C. has the strictest gun control in the country. The cities and states that have the least controls over honest people generally have the least crime. Banning guns is like banning drugs.
