1. IDF conserving its power for a much more important mission
CHAIM.S 54ST ,   BROOKLYN NY   (09.17.13)
when the time will come to uproot the jews from their homes and make YESHA judenrein, People of Israel WAKE UP,and get rid of this self hating traitorous leftist government before it's too late
2. nver mind the idf
hy   (09.17.13)
Now, never mind the idf. Those border towns, 22 of them or whatever, police yourself by forming your own defense units, armed with rifles and handguns, with german or belgian shepherds, electronic fences. If any intruder threatens with a gun or knife,s hoot em cold. End of story. Got it. Stop praying, get off your rear ends, and set up your defense training.
3. Citizens need to take things into their own hands
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.17.13)
African infiltrators need to be dealt with first. If they are not deported as promised they will be dealt with by the people. This is madness to leave the borders unguarded. Israelis need to revolt NOW!!
4. #2 Is right unfortunately
BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (09.17.13)
Arm yourself to the teeth, practice firing your weapons so you'll be at the ready. Sad to think your government has left you twisting in the wind. BUILD FASTER AND MAKE THE BORDERS SECURE.
5. The political echelon now provides...
Gideon Reader   (09.17.13)
...an excellent rationale for the immeadiate formation of local "mobile response formations" of indig residents; armed to the nines and trained in rapid and hyperviolent response opposite infiltration or outright offense against theareas from which the IDF is withdrawing. Those who wouild pet the crocadile will soon be called" lefty". Self protection has always had a nice feel anyway.
6. Is Israel being dispersed?
Shimon ,   Azor, Israel   (09.17.13)
Is something greater about to occur to our country? Is it for sale? I just don't cannot process what has been happening. The terrorists issued an announcement last week encouraging all terrorist cells to attack Israelis, seems that security should tighten not be eliminated. Yesterday, the announcement of African infiltators being released into the streets with probability of thousands more to join them from Africa. Did our foreign aid get cut and we just cannot sustain our country alone and have to give it away in bits and pieces?

8. IDF to stop securing border communities
David Severy ,   Baltimore MD   (09.17.13)
Had to stop my knee from jerking. I pray the decision will work.
9. IDF stop securing borders
Benjamin ,   Greenville   (09.17.13)
With decisions like this is it any wonder why the IDF lost the 2006 Lebanon war.
10. Add this to the gifting of Homesh to the PA
Tracy   (09.17.13)
PA Arabs will be allowed to settle former Jewish community of Homesh . Homesh was one of four northern Samarian towns which Jews were evicted from as part of the disengagement. It remained as part of Area C under Israeli military and civilian control. Now PA Arabs have been given permission to settle there. What you are witnessing is the dismantling of Israel. Years from now our descendants will ask how could Israeli Jews submit so meekly to this process.
11. This is a typical example...
ישראלי ,   תל אביב   (09.17.13)
Of... Problem > Reaction > Solution. You have to look at the timing, Israel is desperate to justify an attack on Syria and Iran, at a time when others call for all terrorists to attack israeli cities and people we basically turn the defense system off? It's an invite to them and a trap for them (and us) people could (probably will) die as a result of this action, but Israel will get it's justification for war and give the powers against Israel more cannon fire for their boycotts, anyone who is "awake" to the real world and how it works will see this a mile off, the elite are beating the drums for WW3 and it will happen if we (israel) and the western powers invade Syria or Iran. arm yourselves (with knowledge) stop these mad leaders, elite, puppets and freaks, just don't cover your eyes to the lies being told. Good Luck everyone, Shana Tova and G-D be with us all.
12. First the courts now the IDF
Ron ,   oc us   (09.17.13)
It seems the courts and now the IDF will not protect Jews. Hamas is taking note of this decision as is Hezbollah.
13. 3.
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.17.13)
Ok, agreed. Many of us will be sitting ducks. Are you going to lead us, Dror?
14. Stupid just Plain Stupid
Bill Stein ,   USA   (09.17.13)
I went through the 73 War and I have also lived on the Gaza Border this idea is just plain stupid and may prove almost as disastrous as the decisions made right before the Yom Kippur War. And if Hezbollah or Hamas decides to do a Large Scale incursion which Hezbollah has threatened in past or if either Hamas or Hezbollah or some other terror group decide to do a terror attack then what? This decision is stupid
15. high time for a Israeli spring revolution
CHAIM.S 54ST ,   BROOKLYN NY   (09.17.13)
People of Israel, have you gone mad? are you crazy? don't you see the handwriting on the wall ?,this criminally insane self hating leftist traitorous regime has completely abandoned you, they will not defend their own country and it's citizens, it is time for an Israeli spring revolution, you must rise up by the millions and vomit out this traitorous government, and put the traitors on trial for the crime of high treason, and do to them what the citizens of France and Italy did to their enemy collaborators after the second world war. Do it now before it's too late and you will find yourselves without a country.
16. #1 : Stop being a debile, get a life!
(09.17.13)
17. Hey #15
(09.17.13)
Be careful of your choice of words otherwise they will end up meaningless. By the way, why not make a revolution for the cost of life, makes more sense for most of the Israelis I guess.
18. WHAT'S THE PROBLEM ?
FO ,   Belgium   (09.17.13)
What's the problem as long as the North of Tel Aviv (Ramat Aviv) is secure. Remember when Sderot was daily hit, and a prominent figure living in Ramat Aviv said: "Kassamim, schmassamim, what is all this hysteria about? Remember who it was?
19.  Defense IDF patrol in Gaza vicinity area Photo: Zeev Trach
Phillip Pasmanick ,   Upper Galilee, Israe   (09.17.13)
As an ex-Security Director (Rabash) of my old Kibbutz on the Lebanese border, I fought similar decisions on three occasions. If the IDF soldiers only sit at a gate and are not part of an integrated response plan of defense, the decision will stand. Because soldiers under my responsibility were successful in their duties in the very first moments until the local quick-response team were on their feet & in position, the decision was reversed (on our kibbutz), and on another occasion, returned to their duties. I'm sorry to say, most settlements simply exploit the added manpower to replace private guards at their front gate, without their integration (as mentioned above) AND THAT'S what led to this decision. IMHO
20. So, where is Israel?
David ,   Israel   (09.17.13)
Surely the Government is supposed to protect all of Israel on BOTH sides of the Green Line from those who are trying to destroy us? Maybe our borders have been changed and Israel in the Green Line is just the periphery of the main State of Israel in Judea and Samaria which seems to be the favorite son of our Prime Minister and his Government!
21. Northern Border Towns?
Marcus ,   Migdal   (09.17.13)
Since when is Gaza & Sinai in the "North" and "Northern Borders" (tzafon )??? So where is "Darom" then?
22. security shall be provided by armed citizens
Mark Bernadiner ,   Pearland, USA   (09.17.13)
Army shall arm local citizens and give them basic training, like we have in US.
23. I don't understand
Neal ,   Minneapolis USA   (09.18.13)
I'm a glautnik who cannot read the Hebrew press -- which might have a better explanation of this decision -- but from what appears on Ynet, I am dumbfounded. What nation does not protect its borders and its population? I needn't point out to Israelis that they don't enjoy a border like that of the United States and Canada. Is the IDF presence along the south being replaced by border police, which I would think would be at least somewhat reassuring, or, incredibly, by nothing?
