Pass a law that provides for automatic life sentence for anyone who kidnaps, or kills during a kidnapping. 4. Pass another law that automatically increases the prison sentence to life of the prisoner, whom terrorists are trying to free. That should be a deterrent.

Apart from the moral question, as far as I know the death penalty didn't lower murder rates in the US where the death penalty is permitted - Texas for example.

were it only that tomer hazan was found alive. it is imperative that soldiers and also civilians be more cautious. they must be told never to go to jehuda/shomron on their own. they must resist the normal human instinct to be kind to arab palestinians. many of the tragedies of terror that have been perpetrated against jewish israelis were the result of unearned trust and kindness.

The reason is that you cannot have double standards and Israel will never execute an Israeli for terrorism or murder. The death penalty is certainly warranted in cases of terrorism and even murder where there is no doubt whatsoever of the guilt of the killer but it will never fly here.

If we wouldn't free terrorists and murders, there wouldn't have been a motive to kill Tomer. Capital punishment now!!! - in order to prevent more cases like this.
