31. To #29
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (09.23.13)
Rivka, I think, you have a persecution complex. I'd be willing to bet that, Jews excepted, most people in the US don't realize the difference between a Star of David and a Macy's symbol. "Terrible things happen to women in America, who wear Jewish symbols." WHAT?? Unless you live across the fence from some rabidly Islamic screwball, who's working on those 72 virgins, I suspect that you're not despised for wearing this or that, but for spouting nonsense. I'd be willing to bet, too, that the percentage of adults, who can tell you which symbols are Hebrew, Innuit, Toltek, Greek, Russian or Sanskrit is miniscule. Just like circumcision was already an accepted practice in Egypt by 2450 BC, the Flood had been described in the Epic of Gilgamesh, long before the Old Testament was written. BTW, you may want to compare the story of Krishna with that of your Yehoshua. You'd be amazed. His admirers called Krishna "Jezeus," meaning "pure essence." When I wear the silver ankh my kids gave me, it doesn't mean my loyalty is to King Tut. I hope the creator has a good sense of humor and doesn't get pissed at all the nitpicky, ridiculous BS with which he/she/it is being insulted.
32. how can any jew even want to wear a cross is beyond me
martin ,   uk   (09.23.13)
i can understand if people want to give up their heritage, although it is a real shame to deny their children and childrens children etc the opportunity to continue the long line of judaism. however, why would asnyone want to consider conversion to a religion that has humiliated and presecuted us for two thousand years? Why can christians love all mankind and still continue to hate the jews? why can christians forgive all mankind, yet, continue their hate towards jews for allegedly killing their god? how can any jew even start to believe that jesus is the saviour? their own knowledge of their birthright is sadly lacking. how shameful and hurtful for the parents.
33. Christians wear crosses on their neck
Jumbix   (09.24.13)
Gee, and here I was thinking it's Roman Catholics who do that...
34. wearing a t
iselin ,   Oslo, Norway   (09.24.13)
Though my family is 100% Jewish, I went to a private Catholic girls school because it was the only college-prep school anywhere near where we lived in a poor area of the deep south. When I brought my daughter (then 5) to visit, I asked her if she enjoyed the visit with all the ladies (some in habits, some not, but all wearing the large silver crosses of their order), she asked, "Do they all wear t's because they are teachers?" Maybe Sarah is teaching us something.
35. are we going to discuss
Prosecco   (09.24.13)
her underwear too? What a low jornalism and bunch of morons discussing this...
36. There is nothing wrong with the Cross
Brod ,   USA   (09.24.13)
The Cross symbolizes GOD'S love for humanity. There is nothing wrong with the Cross. Dark forces had perverted and committed horrendous crimes against humanity while holding the cross in the past. That was how Satan had hijacked it. And Satan had created his dark forces by such perversion. But the true meaning of the Cross that is based on the Bible and Bible alone, is an expression of GOD'S Love for lost humanity and His redeeming power.
37. So many haters here!
Dima ,   Baltimore, Israel   (09.24.13)
Why are ynet comments suddenly filled with 50-80% haters? What is this saddening trend? Live and let live people.. stop judging one another. More love, less hate.
38. Anything to get attention!
Rivkah F. ,   jerusalem   (09.24.13)
Sarah Silverman is crude, vulgar and not all that funny. She will do anything to get attention and does so by provoking and annoying people. She does not wear a cross because she became a Christian but because she wants to be talked about and get attention. It annoys some Jews , pleases some Christians who actually think she is sincere, and makes liberals feel good because it shows that we all get along. She is a self-seeking, self-promoting young woman. For her, its only her "career" as a low-grade comedian that counts. And she does not represent anything that is meaningfully Jewish at all.
39. they can have her ... she makes me sorta sick
(09.25.13)
40. Trash, Dreck, this is who Federation invites to speak!
Sifter ,   Chicago   (09.25.13)
Another pop heroine mocking the pain and historical persecutions suffered by Jews for centuries, symbolized by this jewelry around her neck. 'Pushing the comedic envelope' means trashing every shred of Jewish sacredness, for a Laugh. For her ego. Of course, she is the darling of the urban elites raking it in around their Federation fund raising dinner tables. See Chicago, NY, LA, Miami. Total dreck.
41. Sarah, ....trying to fit in
Ezra ,   Sandiego   (10.01.13)
Not good Sarah. Now your starting to worship Gods your ancesters did not know. Think about the wisdom of the Torah.
42. Getting attention
Danny ,   London England   (10.06.13)
Her rabbi sister supports WoW, so why not wear a cross and make a lame excuse? Perhaps next week she'll wear a full veil, just to get attention.
43. Number 36 Brad from the USA
Joseph ,   London England   (10.06.13)
Symbols have the meanings we give them. To us Jews millions of our ancestors were murdered by people following the Cross, and although it has a different meaning to you, we are deeply offended when a Jewish 'comedienne' appears wearing a cross.
44. NOT
Aryeh ,   Brooklyn, NY   (10.18.13)
Both Sarah and her sister are foul-mouth children of a Jewish father and non-Jewish mother. In many of our books that does not make her very Jewish.
