It's true and you know it. The soldier wasn't hanging around in occupied territory collecting for charity. He's part of a belligerent military force there to quell the inhabitants of a territory so that they can colonise it. He got a bullet for the role he chose to play in it, or rather; the role that was chosen for him. This is simply the wage of the military action.
