1. So much for ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.25.13)
.... the Moslem interpretation of "multi-faith." Couldn't happen to a more deserving country. Can't wait to see Lilibet in a burqa. Actually -- that's not a half bad thing. I'm sure she won't mind waiting for the men to finish dinner before she gets a shot at the leftovers, either. Well, the UK has long ago outlived its usefulness. Time for it to join that vast and ever-increasing backwater of fundamentalist Islam that used to be known as Europe.
2. miniskirts and long shaitels
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (09.25.13)
I worked in the boys department of a haredi communal school. I was asked to sign a dress code agreeing not to wear a miniskirt or a 'long [glamorous] shaitel. As a balding middle aged man I was thinking about a glamorous shaitel, but nonetheless I signed and have complied. I did, however, decline to sign an ethos statement confirming I had no access to a television or the internet. The Satmar and Belzer senior staff refused to pay me unless I signed -- until my teachers' union got involved.
3. Mixed classes
Danny ,   London England   (09.25.13)
The post-WW II guidelines for Orthodox Jewish schools, based on a conference at Lakewood, permit mixed classes in primary [elementary] school if there is no choice, but requires separate classes for secondary school. Today most Orthodox communities have separate primary schools for boys and girls. Regarding shaking hands, when Prime Minister Lady Thatcher visited an Orthodox boys school in her Finchley constituency, she was asked in advance not to offer her hand to male staff because it would put them in an awkward situation. The Queen, of course, modestly wears gloves to shake hands.
4. 'free school'
Joseph ,   London UK   (09.25.13)
Because a free school receives government funding it must comply with all rules and regulations. An independent school without govt funding must comply with health and safety and basic or core requirements.
5. There is one born every minute
Sagi   (09.25.13)
A nutjob I mean, not a fool. Sad for humanity as this proliferation will shortly lead to domination and eventually to self destruction and extinction. Mankind is on the road to oblivion.
6. Oh dear, so much for the Multi-Kulti cult
BM ,   Israel   (09.25.13)
I wonder how the Muslims entered Britain in the first place? Maybe do to the support of the British Haredi community?
7. To: Arthur at No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.25.13)
No sane Jew considers the Satmar, Belz and Neturei Karta to be Jews. All three cults do not recognize the State of Israel, because it was not brought about by messianic delivery. As far as I am concerned, mainstream Judaism should issue a herem -- and a pox -- upon all three houses.
8. To: Danny at No. 3
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.25.13)
The queen, of course, cannot stand the thought of having to shake hands with commoners. That's why she wears gloves. Do you suppose she puts them on when indulging her two-pack-per-day smoking habit? Now THAT is filthy. Not to mention repulsive. She must smell like an unemptied ashtray. Yeccch!
9. As Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel said, Multiculturalism
Rivkah   (09.25.13)
does not work. The Muslims need to be expelled from Europe, Britain, America and other nations that value their culture since the Muslims will destroy that as best they can as their numbers increase.
10. you go work in a Muslim and then get upset they ask you to
Abdalla   (09.25.13)
Cover up?
11. typical abuse of the legal system
Nick Z ,   New York, NY USA   (09.25.13)
the article says: "it opened as a multi-faith free school a year ago but left three months later after she felt the rules had become too 'strict.'" ... reminds me of Islamists coming to power in certain countries by abusing the democratic system and complaining that their human rights and religious freedom is being violated, then when they are in power they show their true nature and do far worse to others. That school must comply with the law or be shut down, no compromise with fanatics.
12. #6 many moslems came from Pakistan etc,
benjy   (09.25.13)
countries where the Brits had governed, thus they had Brit passports. A few came at first to pave the way, even then not too popular but bareable to the Brits. They had the right as UK passport holdrs. Then came more and more, they bred like rabbits and now ......well do I have to say more. Islam will be the dominant religion, if not already in the UK very very soon. I hope for the UK and Europe..and the USA, they will get their act together and do something, if its still possible. Islam is dangerous.
13.  incompatable Islam
ky   (09.25.13)
simply does not fit with democracy.
14. Sarah # 8
Ellen ,   Israel/NYC   (09.25.13)
The Satmar and Belz are well respected Chareidi groups. They are not in the same league as the Neturei Karta. They are not going to be standing around demonstrating against Israel or visiting Israel's enemies. Not recognizing the state is NOT the same as not supporting it! In terms of dress codes. If you work in an Orthodox school you WILL be asked to wear longer sleeves and longer skirts. You will be asked to cover your head if you are married. However, these are private schools and you know this in advance. You are NOT asked to the degree this Christian woman was! AND boys and girls are in separate schools--so it doesn't matter.( except for the modern Orthodox, and there it is separate classes) Bottom line, you know what you are getting into--no one forces you to take the job there. BTW I am NOT Chareidi and disagree with so much that they do, but I also don't think they should be slandered with lies and misinformation.
15. Political
(09.25.13)
Was that discussed at labour conference? Trade unions including teachers unions finance labour government so they will sort that out themselves. The head of labour government is Jewish and as with all labour governments all they know is Palestinians blablabla? Who want this published in Ynet?
16. Sue
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (09.25.13)
If it is billed as an inter-faith school, or if it was deceiving in any way she has a case. If there isn't a specified dress code, she has a case. If she feel she was harassed into leaving, she has a case. If she went to work for a muslim school with specific, stated dress codes, she doesn't have a case.
17. Dihimmi's how befitting for the cown
(09.25.13)
white gloves? Hmmmm Didn't the american pop music king michael jackson wear white gloves??? BTW there is no multicultural Nothing when it comes to the CULT of isslim!!!
18. No surprise here
tiki ,   belgium   (09.25.13)
After having visited Riyadh-West, I mean London after many years of absence I was SHOCKED to see what happened to the place! The Brits have only themselves to blame for being obsessive politically correct & dumb on their multi culti little island. It's a small prize to pay.
19. Britain prosecutes people for defending themselves from
Rivkah   (09.25.13)
thugs. Oftentimes the victim is prosecuted! With that sort of government, I am surprised the teacher is not being prosecuted for not wearing a hajib. Time for her to move to a nation with a sane government and sane school administrators that is not Islamic. Try Iceland.
20. Welcome to the Real World
Tova ,   Canada   (09.25.13)
Religious school impose dress codes. Orthodox schools would not hire a person who dress it completely out of line. The individual would be informed before signing. Mainstream Jewish schools do hire NON-Jews. Howver, in Islamic Schools education is secondary. They are bound by the laws of Shira no matter what country they are in. So any NON-islamic person who thinks it's OK to apply at a Islamic schools should think about what they are getting into. Also western countries who use tax payers money should not give funding to these kinds of schools. That's why there is a Public School System - you know before you are hired what to expect. Which is an Education.
21. to #8: Does Queen Elizabeth smoke?
iselin ,   Oslo, Norway   (09.25.13)
22. ....LESS....
Marian ,   Romania   (09.25.13)
One can make an additional, very important conclusion: the boys in muslim and haredi schools masturbate less, therefore they are healthier and the girls have erotic fantesies with the back of the boys necks.
23. What does that remind me of?? our very own ultra-orthodox
a secular Israeli   (09.25.13)
Very sad and primitive and worrying, but I'm more worried that the same kind of education and behavior is happening right here in Israel among ultra-religious Jews. We should think about how to solve our own problems first before criticising the primitive Muslims in the UK.
24. #10
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (09.25.13)
Do you find multi-faith hard to understand? If you claim to be multi-faith and are not then it is fraud. That is reason to complain. Multi-faith does not mean only Muslim.
25. #19 to Rivkah - same in Canada
Tova ,   Canada   (09.25.13)
Canada also persecutes victims who defend themselves. I can asure you all. In Canada when youare working with Islamic/Hindu people. Managers are afraid of them. So you will be persecuted. Canadian Governments don't care if you are Jewish/Christian. they will not defend you. They are too afraid of the Muslims/Hindu - so it is easy to be racist in Canada.
26. To N 11, Nick Z
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (09.25.13)
I fully agree with you. Rules must be respected under Democracy. Religious fanaticism doesn't deserve public comprehension. Europe, including England, had suffered very much, because of intolerance among Catholics and Evangelicals, and because of awful anti semitism. Radical Islamics have to cease their bad attitudes, voluntarily or by State's forces. People like them, from any religion or doctrine, do harm mankind as a whole.
27. # 1
Stan ,   Israel   (09.25.13)
Sounds like ultra - orthodox in Israel. Not to shake hands with men, women at the back of the bus. Dress code of orthodox not strict enough for them. Separate sidewalks.
28. The parallels are just too close
Scarborough1414 ,   Scarborough, ON, CA   (09.25.13)
Why is it when Arabs demand a strict dress code and their Islamic version of tzniut we all scream blue murder (and rightly so)? But when the frummies in Jerusalem and Beit Shemesh do much the same thing, that's called o.k.? Before you answer, here's the solution: Don't let folks get away with this nonsense. Fight it tooth and nail. If we don't, Israel will become a Hareidi state and the seculars will be the slaves to the Hareidim. One day people will hail me as a prophet for seeing this. The time to prevent this is now. Put saltpeter in frummie food, that may help. (It's supposed to cut down the sex drive).
29. Easy solution ,...
split ,   US   (09.26.13)
If this is a subsidised by taxpayer money school close the joint and send them packing where they came from ,...
30. Christian girls in Syria are being gang raped and infected
Rivkah   (09.26.13)
with AIDS. That is what happens when AQ Muslims are allowed to have control in even part of a country. Death to the rebels in Syria who are far worse than the government of Assad.
