1. Iran is terrified
CJK   (09.25.13)
iran is terrified of a military strike against its nuclear weapons program. the shia terrorists know full well that a military strike against their nuclear weapons sites would be the death knell of their terror regime.

6. Not just terrified of military strike
Claude ,   London   (09.25.13)
The economy is in free fall, as a result of sanctions and the extra crippling cost of subsidising Assad, His Boller and sending monkeys into Space on one way tickets! Iranian inflation was 44pc in July 13. The middle classes can no longer afford basics. This is a recipe for disaster. (For the regime). I know Iranian exiles in London who now send basic household supplies to family members in Tehran. That's a sure sign of trouble brewing for the Supreme Leader, who will do anything to secure the regime. In the end regimes like Iran have one main objective- survival, and in order to do just that they will do a pact with satan. How long before they even dump the Palestinians of Hamas, His Boller and Assad. Now lets wait for the expected diatribe from talkbackers who day dream about the end of Israel. Seems like BDS has worked after all, but it's been directed at Iran
7. #1 CJK - Spot on pal!
Son of Cyrus ,   UK   (09.25.13)
The Mullahs are more worried to keep their regime of Mullahcracy. They will give up nukes to save their hide. If the Persian People get their hands on these Mullahs they will be hanging from each and every tree in sight. Obama is a traitor to the Persian People's aspirations by saying that he is not after a regime change in Iran.

Not at all. They are pulling the rug from under Nuttinyahoo's feet. He is going to look like a rabid warmongerer at the UN next week The US and Iran have been in direct discussions for a while' Looks like the frame work of a deal is done. The world will be delighted to have this issue resolved
13. #8, Iran doesn't have weeks, IAF will annihilate it in a day

so even if Netanyahu is stigmitized as a warlord or whatever, you think Israel doesn't have any wolves in sheep's clothing too? HA There are other leaders waiting in the background after netanyahu. If you love netanyacho so much, you're just going to Loooove these guys!!!
16. SANCTIONS
Cheryl ,   Chicago, IL   (09.26.13)
This is all about Rouhani wanting those sanctions removed.
17. What a hoot!
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (09.26.13)
If you think this idiot signals any real change in Tehran, don't cooperate with anything he wants. This is only a stalling tactic in order to try and finish up their nuclear ambitions which, at the moment, are being hampered by these sanctions. Iran's greatest fear is that Israel will make Iran the third enemy nuclear plants to be destroyed by Israel. If the iranian people are given a chance, they will personally rip the guts out of each one of the terrorists mullahs who have make Iran hell on earth and, the war hasn't yet begun. Sanctions work slowly but surely. KEEP BUILDING !!!
18. Yes Iran! These are your best chances yet!
Israeli 2   (09.25.13)
Obama is very eager to befriend you even if you have nuclear weapons. He is a Soviet Slave....but...it is Israel you must worry about. Our PM is very docile, complacent and patient, but he will do the unthinkable... and in a few moments, you are no more. Be very, VERY careful, Iran.
19. Why is he in such a hurry? Suspicious !

Claude ,   London GB   (09.26.13)
Even if this were the case, and I doubt you have any evidence of it - it proves nothing. The undisputed facts are that Iran's economy is in free fall, making the regime desperate as it spends money on proping up its needy allies. I suggest you read a wide variety of economic reviews of Iran(, not just US or European ones, )almost all confirm the dire state of the Iranian economy. Iran needs a deal, anything to bring inflation down and give opportunities to their young. Rhetoric against US and Israel does not fill stomachs, and empty shops and stomachs feeds anger against people calling themselves 'Supreme' Leaders! Your sign off name suggests a rather adolescent character and puerile nature. Diplomacy is not a career choice you should make until you wash your genitalia,
21. OK then here is the deal Mullahs....
Son of Cyrus ,   UK   (09.26.13)
Give up all nukes for removal of all sanctions! If not we let Bibi & IDF loose on you!
22. They can have a deal tomorrow - let the UN inspectors in
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (09.26.13)
If Iran was serious about wanting a nuke deal they know exactly what they need to do - let in UN inspectors & let them stay there to supervise that all enriched uranium is shipped out of the country. Of course they won't do this because they are to close to building a bomb. These statements are just stall tactics to buy time.

i seriously doubt that the ayatollahs will give up their nuclear weapons program. they have invested too much in it. only a real and credible military threat could possibly convince them, but even then I would not trust them.
24. Rohani under pressure to produce
Cynthia ,   USA   (09.26.13)
Since he's been in office, nothing has changed. Same human rights violations. Still funding terror groups and continuing the nuclear program. Sanctions have had a crippling effect and Iranians must be questioning why they supported him. And while he barks about Israel being an occupier, Iran is occupying Syria. Rohani doesn't really expect a quick deal since there is no trust for this regime. He'll settle for the opportunity to blame the US in order to dodge domestic criticism.

My reasoning is as follows: 1) Hashemi Rafsanjani who is one of the architects of the Islamic Republic and a close confidant of Ayatollah Khomeini and the person who put El Supremo Khamanei in power in his recent speech painted a vivid picture of the dismal position of the country and urged solution. 2) Khatami the ex-president same. 3) Corruption is ripe within the regime, with Khamanei's son Mojtaba heavily implicated. Also the Larijani brothers are implicated in corruption, receiving bribes etc... 4) Khamanei's speeches all point to it too. He has been saying for a long time that the survival of the Islamic Republic Regime is the single most important issue. 5) This regime was put in power by the Western Powers and Ex-Soviet Empire. End of Communism and rise of religion so that both sides benefit. Ultimately if the US and Russians make a deal for these guys to leave office they will leave office. 6) Persian people do not want this regime at best only about 10% of the population supports them. 7) I believe that the only reason they have opted for Nukes is to ensure their own survival. Now at the critical moment they have no choice but to give it up if enough pressure exerted. Obama in his speech said "US does not want a regime change in Iran" and I think that was what the mullah's were waiting to hear. 8) Khamanei in his last speech said to the people "Heroic Flexibility" which is very similar to Ayatollah Khomeini's speech just before the end of IRAN-IRAQ War "I drink the cup of poisonous drink." then agreed to stop toppling Sadam Hussein and freeing Najaf & Karbala form the Sunni Infidels.
