1. Really good article!
Shadoil79 ,   Jerusalem   (10.03.13)
2. Don't flaunt your successes, only your problems.
tiki ,   belgium   (10.03.13)
To satisfy the pseudo Trotski's on the planet. As I see it the leftist 'problem to cope with Israel's success is only theirs! Let them groan & moan, who cares! Israel succeeds, invents, develops & grows. That's the best remedy against bitter & sour people with poisonous language because that's all they have!
3. What a crock off piss
Ken ,   Australia   (10.03.13)
I have to comment , Who ever thinks like this is nuts, the state of Israel provides life saveing events on a daily basis and also provides to the Arabs on many levels, bottom line, if the whole Arab world were like Buddhists actually passive in philosophy and nature , the Jewish people could actually live more toward the Jewish ethos as they would probably like. If a miracle occurs tomorrow, and israels Jewish population were not targeted by the Arab world metaphysically to physically And every where in between, the Jewish state would not have to spend billions on big boys toys each and every year, let alone the billions to trillions spent on the pursute of the peace process and the propping up of the the Arab palestines and the insane amounts of cash given by the world to advance this process when they , the palestines, have blown trillions on treachery rather than accepting a state of there own , all in all , trillions down the drain because of the middle easts Arab insanity. If this was not the case I'm quite sure Israel would have more than likely solved at least the worlds most challenging problems by at least half, that's half of the worlds problems fixed, yes , by the Jews not the Arabs. So who's train of thought is wiser, no one cares of people with out brains and the IQ of fools , hashems deciples are a forward thinking G-d made machine, the rest is just the piss that lands on the floor .
4. 2000 years and youve learned absolutely nothing
Cyberbrain ,   Israel   (10.03.13)
no point in even trying to explain yet again you simply can't grasp the problem
5. the left wing lunatics
CJK   (10.03.13)
any jew who wants to dismantle the jewish state is an antisemite. any jew who singles out israel on a regular basis for opprobrium is an antisemite. any jew who sides with the enemies of israel is an antisemite and a traitor to the jewish nation and 4000 years of jewish history. none of them is an intellectual they are all poseurs, anarchists and frauds.
6. in almost every society
arne ,   chicago usa   (10.03.13)
there will be those who chose to take a different view from the norm. The very far left may well feel that being a whole lot different gives them a sence of intelligence that the others don't have. It also may be a cover for some sort of insecurity.anyway,I really don't pay to much attention to them. Like Clark Gable would say "I really don't give a dam"
7. Weird article
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (10.03.13)
This is BS. Nothing we say will change their minds.
8. Nothing rational can penetrate their wordview
Logic ,   Israel   (10.03.13)
so don't bother trying to appeal to that hostile crowd.
9. An interesting think piece which just
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (10.03.13)
might contain a grain or two of truth linking it to reality. I wonder wether the author's has any explanation for right wing Jewish xenophobia.
10. What a load of cr*p!!!
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (10.03.13)
The sort of paranoia this author expresses makes me convinced that neither Fidel nor Ariel was the last Castro to be a complete moron. That leftsy anti-semitismy b***s*** is getting a bit old, quite frankly.
11. Cyberbrain @ 4, I suspect we are not to blame, but you.
leo ,   usa   (10.03.13)
Can you lay reasonable argument or you expect us to take your frustration for it instead.
12. Seeming double standard
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (10.03.13)
Yes, there is a seeming double standard when it comes to criticizing Syria, Iraq, and Iran. But could that be because the three states I just listed, despite their admittedly terrible actions, exist legitimately, whereas the one called "Israel" does not. In this case, therefore, the double standard is indeed justified.
13. To #12
Michael ,   New York   (10.03.13)
Graczek, (or is it Muhammed?), Actually Syria and Iraq are no more or less legitimate then Israel. They were created about the same time and by pretty much the same powers of that time. As for Iran, It's been around a while longer and known as PERSIA. So you know nothing about what you are saying. And it IS a double standard, and double standards are never justified except if it's based on HATE.
14. Iraq 1932, Syria 1946, Israel 1948
y-man ,   budapest   (10.04.13)
You see there was just a few years of difference between the establishment of the modern states of Iraq, Syria and Israel. If the modern Israel is not legitimate, then neither are the Iraq and Syria.
15. Survivors guilt + Jewish guilt + inability to appreciate
Jrebecca ,   Modiin   (10.03.13)
As a group we've never learned to appreciate things. When we left Egypt, it only took about 3 days to complain. How many survivors asked, but why me, G-d? Nothing changes. And WE are taught to be responsible, for ourselves and the world, so if the world is not perfect, it must be our fault.
16. graczek--I've always said
arne ,   chicago usa   (10.04.13)
"there's no greater hate then envy" and your proof of that! Sorry, sonny boy there's nothing you can do about it. It's in your D N A.
17. CJK @ 5
Birdi ,   Israel   (10.03.13)
Exactly right. Perfect post.
18. very smart article
(10.03.13)
19. Distorted mind
Reuven ,   Netanya   (10.04.13)
You, my dear author, and many readers who share his opinion: - you don't have any clue why "left" minded people are against a multitude of actions of the Israeli government - the jewish people of all should know better as we are always crying about the holocaust but fail to see how others are in perilous situations - people of Israel are living in a cocoon and don't bother or fail to get self educated about how the world perceives Israel and most important why. I even wonder why I bother, majority here has no clue what I am talking about.
20. #19 the answer is
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (10.04.13)
You haven't a clue as to what you are talking about. Anti-Semitism is a lot like Homophobia. Nobody cares why the homophobes hate - they are the ones that need to change. It doesn't matter why an Anti-Semite hates us - it is up to them to grow up and learn. I suggest you do the same since that is too complex for you
21. Israel, then and now
Michael ,   Haifa   (10.04.13)
Israel's achievements were widely admired by intellectuals world wide until Israel's anti - intellectual messianists began to steal land after 1967
22. The left also hates their own government
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (10.04.13)
in May 1940 during the German attack on France, communist pilots in the French Air force, refused to fight the Germans, they considered Germany a ally of the soviets,Ribbentrop Molotov pact.
23. 17 Birdie
CJK   (10.04.13)
as one bird to another, toda raba.
24. 19
(10.04.13)
it seems, neither do you.
25. The phenomenon that we face is the UNHOLY TRINITY
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (10.04.13)
Consisting of: 1. Classic anti-Semites 2. "Progressive" anti-Jewish racists 3. 7th-century-based Islamists Members of these circles in society - Jewish and non-Jewish alike - have little in common but the irrational obsessive drive to demonize Israel and the people whose nation-state Israel is, to de-legitimize it, and to seek its very demise.
26. Jewish Anti-Semitism
Cheryl ,   Chicago, IL   (10.04.13)
Jews have always wanted to have social acceptance. That, and fear of anti-Semitism have bred Jewish anti-Semitism. Lack of Yiddishkeit in the home and many things have bred Jewish anti-Semitism, unfortunately.
27.  Love for the destitute and the stranger a Jewish value?
beatez ,   Holon   (10.04.13)
That is not preventing a harsh and merciless treatment of African refugees in Israel. The ones who do care for them are considered ... "leftists"
28. Can somebody please..
Samuel ,   Melbourne   (10.04.13)
...tell me what "spiritual anti-Semitism" is. I don't quite understand.
29. Almost a great article
Almost ,   Florida   (10.04.13)
If it wasn't for the terribly conceived solution at the end, this article would be great.
30. Chomsky & Pappe, self-hating Jewish Anti-semites...
