31. Stop visiting this shop
Dan   (10.17.13)
The 'request' is illegal and there are other shops. Let their business die.
32. Live and Let Live
Moshico ,   Jerusalem   (10.17.13)
I guess if women are complaining about other women's modesty then either they are jealous that they have big breasts or they are lesbians. Easy solution, put a box of sunglasses by the door so people can put them on or give them blindfolds. As for men that are peeking in the window, then they should not and if they do thats their problem.
33. 27 25 Both are important.
robert ,   antwerp belgium   (10.17.13)
One one hand, the way people dress does have an influence on the way people (with exceptions) behave. People who dress in a sexual attractive way do get a response from other people. Those who dress like hassidim are much less likely to get the same response. Outside Israel, skinheads and people with racist tattoos do elicit a fearful response. Sloths, punks also get responses. On the other hand, one may dress as a hassid and not be a good person while another, dressed in shorts, may be a good person .
34. 33 , "with exeptions" you wrote
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.17.13)
There are MANY of them . Be dressed in a sexual attractive way ? It's not what we can see , but what is "hidden" that attracts people . You bring in extreme examples , nothing to do with "modesty" . Sluts , in your town , helped to save art pieces from a church that was burning , so they can be very fine persons too . There are thousands of people in Israel who wear shorts , and some girls very mini ones , even on their way to work as volunteers . And don't try to touch , at least not most of , them
35. 34 Charles You misread...
robert ,   antwerp belgium   (10.17.13)
my comment. You are 100% right that the way people dress should not influence the way people see them, but the fact is we all are influenced . So people should not be blind to the impact the way they dress has on other people wether negative or positive. Even so everyone has the right to dress the way he wants
36. 35 , No Robert
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.18.13)
Of course when you see a black suit wearing guy , you will know he's an Orthodox person . I don't think that we all are influenced by "what" people are wearing , exept maybe in extreme cases . The most important , certainly for women , is the choice of clothes that fits them .
37. No Robert , not misread !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.18.13)
Exept in extreme cases , we are not influenced by what people wear . The only thing we can judge , is eventually their taste .
38. religious B.S.
bernard ,   munich   (10.21.13)
What has the way you dress yourself to do with spiritual insights? Nope! Just another example of religious B.S. The nameless must be really poor if he/she/it would care for those silly things. Tradition is OK, but when used for a tool of suppression, than it's nothing but a political measure to hold the masses (followers) under the thumb. Every religion is trying hard for this influence of people.
39. #5. 'God' also gave us responsibilities.
Dan   (10.23.13)
We have to live with each other and that means not imposing our will on others. If you and your fellow religious maniacs want to live without tolerating other people, go and set up your own, undemocratic state - perhaps the Iranians would have you - and leave Israel for the sane.
