31. #24 Maybe you should read the news
Cynthia ,   USA   (10.09.13)
The Turkish jihadis were armed to the teeth and they attacked the soldiers. Erdogan should have apologized to Netanyahu as he promised there would be no terrorists on board the flotilla.
32. Choking on the Grass!!LOL
joe ,   us   (10.09.13)
Pass the peace pipe to Perez and Livni
33. Can ANYONE post drivel on Ynet?
Raoul ,   Herzliya Israel   (10.09.13)
34. # 1. a warped mindset
norbus ,   Jerusalem   (10.09.13)
The lady looks of middle east origin and I bet she is a good cook. She should stick there, or do some sewing if she is bored, but in politics she hasn't a clue I blame ynet for publishing such drivel from a housewife who is trying to emulate Kissinger
35. And like with the mavimara Turkey will stab Israel
Brett L ,   JHB South Africa   (10.09.13)
in the back just as quickly!! Anyone who believes we are now big mates is sorely mistaken. if it is in their interest to screw over the Jewish state they wouldnt even give it a moments thought, especially with the lunatic erdogan at the helm!!!
36. israel is not our enemy
dogan ,   istanbul-turkey   (10.09.13)
"As long as Erdogan is in power, things will not change" this is not correct. Once(in2007) , erdogan has grant jewish reward. Once erdogan also like israel and jewish. The main problem is palestine issue. if ,palestina issue will be solve in the future, israel will be one of biggest friend of turkey.
37. Not to be believed!
Sharon Goldner ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (10.09.13)
This article was written with the naiveté of a childish twelve year old.
38. Nechama Duek has not moral
Ivan ,   Haifa   (10.09.13)
She wants to make partnership with the country with more journalists imprisoned
39. neither friend nor enemy
david wolgroch ,   london   (10.09.13)
Turkey is not exactly a friend of Israel but rather sees Israel as a rightful punishment for Arabs who betrayed Turkey in WW I and sided with the British. The government is slowly becoming more religious and seeking approval of Moslem nations. They are regaining their sense of power, influence, and entitlement. Careful!!!
40. An Islamic power by your side
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (10.09.13)
What's that - a message from a parallel universe? Turkey is no friend of a Western country - and definitely not of Israel.
41. In Politics and diplomacy you do whatever
Shachar ,   Eilat   (10.09.13)
you have to to keep working relationships with which you look after your own interests. No sentiments. Turkey is not an enemy, it has working relationships with Israel, Iran and the Arab countries and juggles them to suit her own needs and ambitions. Israel does exactly the same, the apology is nothing to get excited about.
42. Kerry & Obama
Cauvery ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (10.09.13)
this is happening when a diplomatic gesture is organised by Kerry & Obama.
43. ?
Steve   (10.09.13)
I will join the chorus of comments suggesting that this incoherent piece is an embarrassment to an otherwise worthy publication. Why soil your publication with the disjointed ramblings of this delusional loon, who I might ad also writes like a fifth grader. There is a lot of decent content on line, do not waste my time publishing this bewildering crap.
44. now you start talking
kemal ,   istanbul   (10.09.13)
the world is big enough for all of us.
45. Reality is more nuanced
Danny ,   London England   (10.09.13)
The advice makes sense if both parties are on the same wave length. However, many Muslim countries tend to see an apology as a sign of weakness, not strength or courtesy. There is also the issue of so much anti-Israel sentiment in the loony Left media that an apology is made into an admission of guilt. Life is a bit more nuanced than the advice.
46. Caglar, Dogan, Kemal,
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (10.09.13)
Israel never stopped being friends with Turkey. Under AKP Turkey decided to cut relations - an unfortunate move. Caglar: As Ottoman empire welcomed Spanish Jews in 1492, Israel also helped Turkey in 1980ies in lifting the US embargo established in 1974 after Cyprus invasion and also on many other issues. The benefits have been mutual. (Although I must say Turkish Jews suffered varlik Vergisi and other pogroms) Dogan kardes: Israel has offered peace and 2 state solution to Arabs many times. In fact West bank was not under Israeli occupation before 1967, it was under Jordan Occupation., Gaza also was under Egypt occupation and today is only under Hamas occupation.
47. #29 - Ron
elke ,   usa   (10.09.13)
"Name one country..." Turkey Britain France United States Poland Sweden Scotland Netherlands That's just off the top of my head and referencing stories and comment I have read in the past 1-2 months.
48. #20 all right then...
Tahl   (10.10.13)
...Right after all the Islamic nations will apologize to Israel for the Goebels-like antisemitic propaganda in the media, the burning of Israeli flags, their teaching of their young that all Israelis/Jews are sub-humans who deserve death, and that dying while killing Jews is the highest honor. By the way, what oppression of Muslims in Israel are you talking about? Can you name another Muslim country where the Palestinians are treated better, and have more rights? Same with the Christians - Israel will apologize to them, the moment they would apologize for all the vile antisemitic incidents all over Europe - desecration of Jewish graves, neo-nazi parades, and the classical antisemitism in movies such as Passion of Christ. For some strange reason, I suspect your name is closer to Ahmed than Ehud.
49. elke #47
Tahl   (10.10.13)
I don't know what "vitriol" you are talking about. Israelis do not hate any other countries, but when we are attacked by the politicians and by the media there, then yes, we have every right to respond. So here's an idea - how about just leaving us alone? And as for your question, I can name many countries we like. The USA, Australia, India, Thailand, Greece, Serbia, to name a few of them. And of course, our great friend the Czech Republic, who today showed some real guts standing up to Arab pressure. Good on them!
50. Mashaal was in Turkey yesterday...
Thessalonian ,   Canada   (10.11.13)
Surely you can have a good relationship with Hamas' best friends. Rumours have it Mashaal is cozying up to Erdogan for support and perhaps a bit of real-estate for his new headquarters. Enjoy your "all inclusive" in his new neighbourhood. Regards
51. Better late than never
The relationship wit ,   Teaneck, USA   (10.11.13)
Ms. Duek could not be more wrong or naive. The issraeli commandos were attacked and only defended themselves. Had they been US Seals, there would be no issue at all. Also, it is The Turkish leadr Erdogan, who used this incident to turn against israel and igratiate himself to the Arabs.
52. Better Never than late !.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (10.11.13)
53. relations with Turkey
sam ,   usa   (10.11.13)
as a matter of fact had never been better, on the surface Erdogan is pleasing the hard liners but in reality things under the surface are doing good tourists are back and so is exports, they need Israel as much as Israel needs Turkey, end of story.
