1. Let's Face It
Ariel ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (10.13.13)
B"H - Let's face it, it was an exceptionally good idea to give them Gaza. Those who plan to give them Yehuda and Shomron should take note. Will they? No, they won't. We must start to ask ourselves Why not?
2. The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) with which ...
Hermon Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (10.13.13)
...Israel conducts peace talks has made commitments since 1993, few of which have been implemented by the PLO since. One fundamental example is the amending of the PLO Charter. Since 1993 we, Jews, within and without our nation-state of Israel, have been waiting to observe the changes taking place in the PLO Charter, but to no avail. The PLO Charter continues to call, as its main thrust, for the demise of the state of Israel; for the "cleansing" of the ancestral homeland of the Jewish people, including Jerusalem, of its Jews; and for the use of all means possible in order to bring about the goals. Clearly, the continuous arming of the Muslim-Arabs of Samaria, Judea, the Jordan Valley and Gaza; the use of violence, terror and rockets; and the preparations for such acts through the illegal - by agreements with Israel - these tunnels are indications that all means possible are being used. Therefore, it is high time Israel ought to cease all talks with the PLO about future agreements, and instead examine, along with the international community if need be, of the application by the PLO of agreements to which it is committed.
3. TWINKIES
marco ,   pardes hana, israel   (10.13.13)
The most disturbing thing about the article shows in one of the pictures . I think it is very unfair that Gazans can enjoy Twinkies while we here in Israel have to suffer without. Doesn't this call for some kind of UN resolution? Anyone who would like to join my Twinkies4Israel support group is welcome to contact me.
4. And what's at the Gaza entrance to the tunnel?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (10.13.13)
I'd guess a school, hospital or mosque, to discourage Israel from destroying the tunnel at its source and discouraging other such efforts.
5. Time to Go
Darren Ben John ,   Townsville Australia   (10.13.13)
Get back behind your green line and stay there. That is the land that you were given. So stop antagonising the natives and be glad we gave you something in the UN.
6. Why not counter terror measures
Meir Elazar   (10.13.13)
If IDF uncovered a approx. 1.7 km tunnel from Gaza to the proximity of a Kibbutz, why not install surveillance equipment, mines, booby traps, etc. Then wait for the right moment. Either they blow themselves up or we pull out some very lethal measures from our arsenal and kill them in the act.
7. #5 Darren - No we were give all the land from Sea to Sea
Meir Elazar   (10.13.13)
No we were given ALL of the Promised Land from Sea to Sea and up to Lebanon. On the other hand the Palestinians were nomads that overstayed their welcome. At no time in history did they ever rule or have a government or rule in Israel. All historical documents, even the Quran, attest to the fact that the Promised Land is ours. (See Sura 5) Even the name Palestine is contrived since Arabic does not even have a "P" letter in its alphabet.

Check and you will see that many Israeli Leftists have become very wealthy thanks to the "peace talks".

I love your idea but there is always the risk that an explosion will make the rat-hole bigger thus helping those bastards. With all the bright minds Israel possesses, why can't they find a permanent solution to the tunnels problems like for example flooding them from entrance to exit but maybe not or the ground will open and the villagers will be in bigger danger. Or they could pour some concrete over the exit and let is set or something...If Moshiach does not show up soon, the Israeli government will have to find a solution on their own pretty quick because these tunnels are one more tool endangering the wonderful IDF and the courageous inhabitants. Marco in Pardes-Hana, you're funny but on the other hand, let them eat all the Twinkies they can swallow. With any luck they will become so fat, they won't be able to go through the rat-hole they dug.
10. Fill the tunnel with gas and ignite it.
David ,   Hartford USA   (10.13.13)
Get out the binoculars and see what building goes up in flames in Gaza. Then send in the IAF and vaporize that neighborhood. And every time another tunnel is found, do the same thing. Eventually, either a good portion of Gaza will be flattened, or Hamas will give up the tunnels.
11. There could be others in South and North
Bill Stein ,   USA   (10.13.13)
Ynet and israelnational news said that the tunnel was laden with explosives. Has anyone ever read American History on the American Civil War Battle of the Crater near Petersburg Virginia when Northern forces dug a mine shaft under Confererate trench positions loaded it with explosives and blew it up. This sounds like a attempt of the same type of attack the only other reason is a possible large scale incursion like invasion much like worldnetdailyhad published about a year ago about plans for Hizboullah to invade the northern Galillee. There could be others in the North and the South in my opinion
12. #10 war crime
(10.13.13)
Any action taken by Israel to defend her citizens is a war crime and will trigger International Condemnation. Just look at how much Goldstone and the Left were paid to condemn Israel for fighting Hamas. The only terrorists Israel is allowed to fight are Jewish children who paint graffiti
13. Why not use....
Edwin ,   Canada   (10.13.13)
seismic jugs? Lay them in a string around the parameter of Asa and listen. After digging operations have been detected, just keep tabs on their progress. Better to keep these "people" busy as you monitor their activities until they pose a threat. Then they can simply disappear.
14. #5
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (10.13.13)
Time for you to go back to England and return all of the stolen land you are occupying back to the natives, you hypocrite. Our land is not for the God damn UN to approve or not approve as our sacred homeland. You turd.
15. War
tom ,   new york   (10.13.13)
Gaza has an elected government , Israel should announce that acts of war will be treated as such , and will result in attacks not just on terrorists but on Gaza.
16. #10 Good idea, especially while the rats are digging!
A ,   Belgium   (10.13.13)
17. residents near gaza-form your own armed sentries
jerold   (10.13.13)
form your own defense patrol guard and kill any arabs that cross the fence or come into your area. illegal trespasser should be shot. Stop whining, spend less time in shul and load your guns and keep training. Do not depend on the idf. Gazans should nknow that they will be shot if they cross into israel. By the way, when judeans and samarians go out of their houses, they should carry their guns ready to fire to cut down suspects like the ones on the jordan valley who should have been shot at the very least.
18. Hostess=not new tunnel! and a 1.8 mi kidnap
Israel Watchdog ,   Akko, Israel   (10.13.13)
The Hostess company closed last year, which lends to the fact that this is not a new tunnel. Also, what does it matter if it was 1.8 miles for the village. An enemy enters Israel through the tunnel, walks 1.8 mi, kidnaps people and brings them back through the tunnel to Gaza. End of discussion!
19. Twinkies
Claude ,   Cape Town and London   (10.13.13)
And I thought that Palestinians were proud of their cuisine , what is it that persuades so many who loath the USA to consume its most revolting products. Surely Israelis and Palestinians could find common cause in rejecting this junk in favour of their own national cuisines. And don't send posts about food blockades on Gaza. They have access to fresh produce and if they accepted IL right to exist they could import, grow and consume even more. Leave Twinkies and Junk food to poor folk who live in Hick towns like Townsville.
20. Use the tunnel to good advantage.
Cowboy Joe ,   Calgary, Canada   (10.13.13)
Use the tunnel as a human waste disposal pipe to empty back into Gaza.
