1. Something to consider ,...
split ,   US   (10.14.13)
It would be much cheaper to blend in instead imposing your customs on others - Why is it that no other immigrant minority requires an extra protection except Jews? ,...
2. Split no#1
Tanya ,   NZ   (10.14.13)
you have to be kidding? why do they need extra protection???? why? because racist idiots like you and religious Islamist fanatics that have no problems blowing themselves up so they can kill as many innocent kids and woman (and men) of Jewish decent as possible are roaming this planet with nothing better to do than commit atrocious crimes against humanity in the name of their religion.....that's why big shot. And since when do Jews go around imposing their religion on the masses?? The only ones doing that and killing for it is Muslims....Islamist fanatical extreme Militants that are slaughtering, raping, torturing all to impose their version of Islam on the masses....throughout Africa, South East Asia and all over the middle East (least we not forget checnya, Georgia to)....You just revel in your hatred of Jews and your blind prejudice that you wouldn't see the truth if it bit you on the nose....you are blinded by your anti Semitism and hatred and I pity you.
3. Most cost effective usage for those funds...
Yerushalmi ,   Jerusalem   (10.14.13)
...is to fund aliya of dutch jews. That is only way they can be safe.

David Israel ,   New York, USA   (10.14.13)
Jews do not impose their ways to anyone. Islam and Christianity impose and sometimes force others to convert to their belief . In Judaism conversion into Judaism is almost impossible and done in exceptional cases by few reform rabbis.
5. It really is time to leave
steve from raleigh   (10.14.13)
It's not safe and the government really doesn't care if you live or die.
6. I've been to Holland many times.
Michael ,   California, USA   (10.15.13)
Never needed any protection, never asked for any special services. But, of course, I never visited a synagogue in Holland because synagogue is not part of my culture. Dutch people I met were always friendly, warm, fun loving. I know Israelis love to go to Amsterdam and tourism from Israel to Holland is thriving.
7. To Nos.3 & 5
Bertram ,   London, UK   (10.15.13)
I find it both depressing and defeatist that there is a constant stream of posts urging all Jews to forsake their countries of birth and upbringing and make aliyah. This is by no means to belittle the importance of Israel. However, Diaspora histories have been integral aspects of the cultures of those societies. Tragically, in the past, some of the most significant of those histories together with the Jewish populations, were destroyed in genocidal actions. Surely, we do not want to aid that process. Modern Israel is a child of the rich cultures of the Diaspora and would be all the poorer without its continued existence.
8. To number 5
David ,   Netanya   (10.15.13)
The only reason people love the Netherlands is because of Amsterdam not because of the rest of the country. I was born and raised in the Netherlands. I can honestly say that people aren't that fun, friendly and warm towards Jewish people. The only people Israeli's know in the Netherlands are the people in Amsterdam. And they are only nice because you are tourist and pay.
9. Ironic isn't it no. 8?
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (10.15.13)
Amsterdam is not exactly the nicest town in the country. My native Leiden is much nicer. The Hague is nicer. Breda, 's Hertogenbosch, Maastricht (and don't get me started on some smaller towns), all much nicer and stukken minder smerig (far less filthy). I have made a point of avoiding Amsterdam including Jewish Buitenveldert for the last couple of years, and I am Jewish, go figure.

SO TELL ME SPLIT, if jews re persecutes for not "blending in", why are HISPANICS IN THE USA NOT PERSECUTED AS WELL???? AFTER ALL, HISPANICS HARDLY SPEAK ENGLISH EVEN AFTER 20 YEARS F LIVING IN THE USA. THEIR KIDS DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH WELL, THEY DO NOT BLEND OR INTGRATE INTO THE AMERICAN SOCIETY, ETC.. WHY DON'T YOU HATE HISPANICS??? THEN????
11. #10 - why are HISPANICS IN THE USA NOT PERSECUTED ? ,...
split ,   US   (10.16.13)
Maybe because they don't pretend to be the chosen ones, they work hard and serve, they're loyal, ask yourself why ? ,...

Angela P ,   The Haque, Holland   (10.16.13)
I think the atmosphere for jewish people changed since moslems came to this country. I think we need to do the utmost to protect jews in this country and from abroad but it,s a big shame that it is needed.
13. Hipanics not persecuted!
Claude ,   Cape Town & London   (10.17.13)
A huge expensive border operation exists to keep them out. Those that make it are all too often forced as "illegals" to work in appalling conditions ,have few legal rights and access to health care They SERVE as you rightly say. By the way Split ,the City of Rotterdam also spent money a few years ago protecting mosques and Muslim community centres from attack by right wing thugs.
14. Jews in Holland
simon ,   haifa isreael   (10.24.13)
#3 The problem is not the Dutch Jews. There are over 40,000 Israelis living in Holland because they don't want to live here in Israel. They are sick of the mess this country is in and would prefer to risk living in Holland or any other European country than living here. Shame but there it is.
