has already weakened their bargaining position by hinting that they would be OK with allowing Iran to continue to enrich uranium BEFORE THE NEGOTIATIONS HAVE EVEN STARTED. ???. Obama is rushing to tie down deals with Afghanistan, Israel/Palestinians, Iran etc without actually pulling off worthwhile deals. He is trying to nail down his legacy which will soon unravel leaving him to be judged by History as the worst U.S. President period and the man who single-handedly accelerated the erosion of U.S. power and influence.

5. There will be good news from Geneva
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (10.15.13)
Everyone (apart from Netanyahu) knows that to sort Syria and Afghanistan out we have to have Iran onside. What is occuring is a negotiation so that Iran can have sanctions lifted as quickly as possible. In other words a verifiable timeline acceptable to all sides. And as Netanyahu was reminded earlier, Israel doesn't have a veto on negotiations.
6. The deal has already been done
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (10.15.13)
The talks in Geneva is about comnfirming the details. Unfortunately for Israel Iran is pivotal in two major concerns of the west. Afghanistan and Syria. Planet Earth is looking at the bigger picture, not the one described in netanyahu's churchellian speeches to the UN. Which nobody was listening to anyway, Netanyahu's inmability to adapt his message to changing circumstances on the ground coupled with him being held hostage by the settlers are isolating Israel on the international stage. A bigger existential threat that Saudi Arabia's nuclear weapons
7. #3 Powerpoint format
chris (munich)   (10.15.13)
Slides in Powerpoint format can be produced by LibreOffice, OpenOffice etc without Microsoft having a financial interest in the matter. By the way, did you know that Powerpoint, like MSDOS, was bought in and not developed by Microsoft?

Over simplification of a complex problem by elucidating that Obama is responsible for a joint decision of the 5 + 1 It is a complexed problem which requires an intellectual response in the pursuit of longterm goals in the Middle East. Or to simplify the message, it is not about Israel, this is about getting out of Afghanistan and preventing the civil war in Syria spilling over into Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey, and yes Israel, and to do that we need Iran onside. It is as simple as that, and if that means allowing Iran to enrich a bit of uranium in a verifiable way to enable the Iranian Leadership to save face then so be it. I guarantee after the deal is made Netanyahu will present it as a success for his diplomacy. Already the terms of his conversation with the rest of the world is that any deal must be verifiable and that sanctions shouldn't be lifted to soon. Life is more complicated than merely blaming the big bad black man in the White House for everything that goes wrong
12. #6 Churchill deserves better respect
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (10.15.13)
Churchill wih a capital C was a great world leader who wasn't afraid to stand up against appeasers like you, who would also probably support hitler today as well. Bibi should stick to his guns, just like Sir Winston Churchill did, and helped save the world against nazism.
13. cliche-ridden reporting of iranian spin
tom ,   toronto, canada   (10.15.13)
iran's proposals are NOT an effort to break a deadlock, because there is no deadlock - there are sanctions which are beginning to hurt the mullahcracy, and they are anxious to have them lifted. but without tangible or irreversible concessions on the issue of nuclear weapons. obviously, they want the maximum benefits from the minimum concessions, and american negotiators have a proven track record of gullibility. iran will not offer to remove enriched uranium (the material for making a bomb), or to destroy its enrichment facilities (the means to making a bomb). simply halting enrichment, as north korea has done, is nothing more than a ploy, because the processing plants can be restarted, just as north korea has done. "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."
14. Why does Iran want faster centrifuges and plutonium reactor?
Paul   (10.15.13)
Civilian nuclear programs do not require these facilities but nuclear weapons programs do. Its obviot to a man on the street that is not a civilian nuclear program.
