2. Erdogen is Obama's deputy president
(10.17.13)
3. Erdogan
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (10.17.13)
There is much about PM Erdogan not to like, but on one point, he is absolutely correct: "Israel" is the main source of trouble--geopolitical infection--in the Middle East, let alone the world at large.
4. Turkey's betrayal
ger ,   raanana, Israel   (10.17.13)
Wonder how Turkey's NATO allies feel about their secrets possibly being passed on to Iran. Wonder how the EU, which is considering the admission of Turkey, will react to this news.
5. Israel return the favor and provide Assad the names of
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (10.17.13)
Israel return the favor and provide Assad the names of ottoman agents in Damascus
6. Erdogan Quote 3
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (10.17.13)
PM Erdogan: "But the fact is that 99% of the people of this country are Muslims. You cannot be both secular and a Muslim! You will either be a Muslim, or secular! When both are together, they create reverse magnetism [i.e. they repel one another]. For them to exist together is not a possibility! Therefore, it is not possible for a person who says 'I am a Muslim' to go on and say 'I am secular too.' And why is that? Because Allah, the creator of the Muslim, has absolute power and rule!"
7. No. 3 Graczek
Madeleine ,   Israel   (10.17.13)
You are such an idiot. Do you really think that if Israel were to disappear off the face of the earth there would be peace in the region? No way. All Islam knows to do is fight, shed bllod and spew hatred. Look at Egypt, Libya, syria, lebanon - nothng to do with israel. right now Israel is a convenient scapegoat for a bunch of losers. Your hatred for Israel is well-known in these columns - I guess there's nothng much else to fill your life because spewing venom is obviusly a presurable pastime for you.
8. Erdogan's blame game
O ,   Toronto   (10.17.13)
This is classic Erdogan. He appears to think himself infallible. Everything is someone else's fault or a conspiracy against Turkey. He lectures the whole world, lashes out at any perceived criticism, brutalizes his own people (and justifies it by insisting they are foreigners), and censors all opponents.
9. turkey must pay 1mm to the accused family,
bb ,   brazil   (10.17.13)
if erogodan ask 1mm for each killed in the ship, he must pay to each one murdered or imprisoned in iran, by the tip of turk master spy
10. Correction:
Corey ,   Canada   (10.17.13)
The once-strong relations between Turkey and Israel didn't hit the rocks during the flotilla nonsense, it hit the rocks as soon as Erdogan was voted into power. Also notice that the Turks aren't denying the allegations about busting Israel's spy ring.
11. Erdogan Quote 1
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (10.17.13)
Recep Tayyip Erdogan Siirt in December 1997 "The mosques are our barracks, the domes are our helmets, the minarets are our swords, and the faithful are our army."
12. Erdogan Quote 2
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (10.17.13)
2009 Erdogan: "wherever Jews settle, they make money. They are not property owners, as being tenants suits them best. On the other hand, whatever we have or do not have, we will invest in our houses."
13. Erdogan secret plan
Abu Yousuf El- Dugri   (10.17.13)
His real face is slowly discovered. No one can trust him.
14. Erdogan Quote 3
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (10.17.13)
'democracy to us is a bus. We will get of the bus when we reach our bus stop' This quote must be etched in the mind of our president when he is dealing with Erdogan or Egypt's Mursi, Syria's ultra religious opposition (which unfortunately we gave arms to fight secular Baas), Political Islam in North Africa and other parts of the world. Democracy for them is just a tool to impose an ultra Islamic dictatorship. Once they get there they will suspend all democratic freedoms.
15. Erdogan greatest mistake
Jozef ,   Wroclaw, Poland   (10.17.13)
That he is acting against Jews and Israel. He did not learn the lesson of history!! God is on Israel side so he will have a very sad end.
16. It's time for Israel to get behind independent Kurdistan
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (10.17.13)
It's time for Israel to get seriously behind the independent Kurdistan movement. not only because it's the moral and logical thing to do (the Kurds have everything the Fukestinians lack, democracy, civil society, a distinct culture and ethnicity, and a genuine national history), but also because it would p*ss off Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. all at the same time!
17. The blame is ours for sharing
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (10.17.13)
intelligence info with Turkey in the first place! One would think that we were innocents in an unknown forest. Who better than us should know not to share any delicate info with foreigners?!? Have we learned nothing over the millenia?
18. Turkey' friendship.
Ameridane ,   Aarhus, Denmark   (10.17.13)
I haven't written to Ynet for a long time. The reason being precisely the Marmara affair. Just before the boarding of the ship, I and several other people have asked the authorities not to use force but to cripple Marmara by either jamming the rudders or using a steel rope to stop the ship's propellers. This, of course was not done but a "bodged" boarding was carried out. The whole world protested and the Gazans laughed all the way to their missiles sites. Israel;- learn from the Muslims, they really know how to use propagand!
19. 4
anton ,   istanbul   (10.17.13)
thre is no betrayal, even if this story was true (i doubt) turkey doesnt owe israel anything why do you still expect turkey to help you? its your spies who was caught red handed in turkish soil... simple isnt it?
20. Turkey

21. Erdogan is a crook
A Kurd ,   Dersim   (10.17.13)
Already notorious in his own cuntry. Don't trust him even in his grave.
22. Muslim Turkey cannot keep secrets. Kick them out of NATO,
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (10.17.13)
and never, ever accept them into the EU!!
23. Turkey collaborating with NATO enemy?
lucifer69   (10.17.13)
Ooh. If this is true, its reason enough to kick them out of the NATO alliance. They will be never trusted again. Bravo Tayyip, you did it again.
24. Anton it is betrayal
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (10.17.13)
The intelligence sharing was done under agreements signed by two governments, a binding treaty. It allows sharing intelligence under trust. Now this trust no longer exists for Turkey and it is not only by Israel but by the entire world including arbs and even Iran. The world knows that treaties have less value in turkey them the paper they are written
25. Collaboration
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (10.17.13)
Just once (or maybe twice) I would like to see Erdogan and Rohani man up and meet with Israel. Perhaps with a couple handshakes and pats on the back they could all share some wisdom and fears, move past the ignorance and bring mutual peace and understanding to the region and world. Together they stand a chance, divided we are all worse off.
26. Israel needs to understand
C   (10.17.13)
as long as obama is president, everything will be done to undermine the jewish state, including destroying intelligence assets, even if such moves are contrary to us national security interests.
27. graczek #25
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (10.17.13)
A sincere peaceful hand shake from all Arabs and Islamic world is what Israel and the Jewish nation has been waiting for since 1947. Israel has extended to their neighbors at times of need. For example to Turks during the big Istanbul earthquake and even to Iran during their earthquake. Time for Islamic world to reciprocate with a sincere and peaceful handshake.
28. to 25 and 27
Barney ,   USA   (10.17.13)
sadly a handshake means nothing and there can never be trust. history has shown this.
29. #19 Anton: you are so mistaken
(10.18.13)
It's not a matter of helping Israel. Turkey and Israel had VERY close relations before Erdogan came to power. Close relation that were in the interest of BOTH countries - between the armies and the intelligent bodies of the 2 countries. There is an unwritten law in the intelligent world that countries do not disclose sensitive information or agents of another country - not if they get this information from the other country itself and not by espionage. What Turkey did was to break this law that is accepted in the espionage world in the most unfair and uncivilized way. Beside the agents that were probably murdered because of it did, Turkey mainly hurt itself because no country in the west will ever trust it with sensitive information. The espionage world is a give and take world and involves the cooperation between countries. Turkey proved herself as a country which cannot be trusted and Europe and the US will learn a lesson from this episode.
30. Dearie, dearie me
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.18.13)
Erdogan is running scared. As well he should. I bet his colostomy bag needs to be emptied every half hour. At least. Erdogan went one klick too far. Time to teach that mad dog a lesson.
