There is no such thing as a well built apartment building in Israel. They are all concrete blocks on stilts, t In the early years had a fast growing population with Holocaust survivors needing homes fast and cheap. We also didn't have the building materials & tools we do today so cheap & cheerful was fine. Today we realise there are threats but there are still no planning laws ordering developers to make solid buildings and even the luxury new builds are same basic design just made to look nicer. Why should a developer build expensive & solid if the law allows them to do it cheap and buyers don't care? One day that earthquake will come, thousands will be killed when buildings collapse and the governments solution will be blame it all on developers rather than bad planning laws.

Dimona is 50+ years old and a nuclear reactor is expected to stay in service for about 30 years usually. Israel probably has enough nuclear material for its nuclear weapons needs anyway DImona should be closed down and its nuclear material removed. I am not an expert but I o know nuclear weapons themselves these days are complicated things not like dumb bombs of WW2 so I would imagine they would survive an earthquake.

i am glad that you understood #1's comment regarding both the nuclear reactor and the (non-existent) weapons themselves. I will never understand Americans until they learn to speak, read & write English!!
