The US no longer has any leverage with Iran (and neither does Israel). This is NOT Obama's fault but the culmination of 100 years of very, very bad decisions in the Middle east by the Turks, UK, French and the US. The latest bad decision was the government shut down by the republicans. This just accelerated and legitimized China's plan to de-americanize the world and remove the US dollar as the reserve currency. The republicans handed China a golden opportunity. China is building an alternative to SWIFT that will allow any country that wants to to circumvent all US and European restrictions. Countries want to do this because of the actions of the US treasury department and the NSA. BTW - Israel can not do anything except make Iran and most of the world extremely angry at Israel causing them to severely punish Israel economically. Be real careful what path your extreme hubris takes you down, you will not like the consequences.

Give me a break. It was the sanctions that brought Iran to the table. It was the sanctions that made them choose a toothy way of negotiating. So yes, we do have the power to bring Iran to its knees. And yes, it is Obama's fault if he does not stick to his promises to Israel. Increasing sanctions is the only peaceful way of negotiating. Chess playing, lying Iran only understands threat. You put them up against the ropes and keep on punching until you get the knockout. If you back off, they will always regain they're wind.

The US team is dealing with a reality where they have run out of options and have to take the best deal they can from Iran or lose everything. If the US tries to throw its weight around both will laugh in the US face. This is NOT Obama's fault, but the result of past presidents making very bad economic decisions. Obama can not deliver what has been promised in the past. For example, Obama can not get a war declaration against Iran through congress and if tried it on his own, he would cease to be president within a month and Biden would stop the attack immediately. Americans are NOT going to do anything to Iran that costs the US any cash or lives. Get used to the new reality.

As a young American Jewish, I find it hard "how" and "when" did we, as a nation became so disgusting and selfish. Do "we" only have a right to power? Others should just be crushed? Imagine, US putting sanctions on Israel so it can adopt a peaceful attitude, and imagine jews getting poor and hungry. Imagine the chaos, voilence and lawlessness that will ensue in Israel. Try to think from the others perspective? And that is what a Jew is, and that is what our faith is, not the other way around. Wakeup please, as you all make me sad. Now party on.
