The CBS surveys always included the median, but the journalist didn't knew how to read the report well. So the CBS changed the format of the report to emphasize the median. Now the journalists don't ignore the median.

The median is less sensitive to outsider populations as ultra-orthodox men and Arab women for one side and highly paid workers on the top of the High Tech industry from the other side. Because of that, the median is a much better measurement than the average in order to understand how much the ordinary Israeli earns.
