1. "Settlements"? We have lived in Israel for 4000 years!
Ariel ,   Rehovot, Israel   (11.09.13)
What about the Egyptian SETTLEMENT that has nothing to do with the ancient Egyptians? Today's "Egyptians" are Arabs, Africans, Greeks, Turks, Bosnians and Albanians. So much for their "Egyptian" identity. Dismantle the "Egyptian" settlement and get out of Egypt and hand it back to the oppressed Copts.
2. Na,,, there ain't gonna be no PEACE,,,,
Barry ,   Tenn, U.S.A.   (11.09.13)
until Gog and Magog is ran out of this Middle East,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, or destroyed.
3. Dark skinned Arabs? Middle East is a "dark skinned" region?
Max   (11.09.13)
The guy on the picture - Nabil Fahmy looks awfully white to me. So maybe white skinned Jews are maybe not so "alien" after all in the "dark skinned" Middle East? I mean after all, most Cypriots, Greeks, Turks, Iranians, Kurds and Lebanese and Syrian Arabs are white skinned.
4. How can Israel tolerate this?!
Friedrich ,   Germany   (11.09.13)
The "peace" with Egypt is a joke. The Egyptians and the Egyptian regime treat Israel as an enemy state and violate Israel's independence by telling Israel where it can construct its own cities in its own land and what treaties it can sign and not sign. The Egyptians are blackmailing Israel. Egypt has to respect the peace with Israel and that includes respecting the will of the Israelis and Israel's independence. How on earth would EU look like if Germany said that peace with France is contingent on the where the French construct their cities and to what extent they sacrifice their independence and what treaties France will sign with other nations? Peace is peace - it's unconditional. Israel shouldn't tolerate Arab conditions, threats and blackmails It's not Egypt's business to tell Israel what to do with regards to the Arabs of Israel's Samaria and Judea. It's Israel's land - the Israelis are free to do what they wish in their own land.
5. So AFP thinks that the Six Day War took place in 1974?
Shalom ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.10.13)
Of course, it was in1967. Such basic ignorance does not encourage us to trust anything else from this news agency.
6. #4- Not just Egypt- The entire world
MARK ,   Boston USA   (11.10.13)
How can there peace if Abbas refuses to recognize Israel as a Jewish state?
7. How can there be peace? Hamas
MARK ,   Boston USA   (11.10.13)
How can you have peace when Hamas opposes it? All the parties must want peace!
8. The real issue
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (11.10.13)
Settlement are not the final obstacle. Abbas wants between four and five million Arabs to move inside Israel, and this is impossible. The point of a Pal state is that Pal refugees can then move to the new PA state. Settlements were ended in Gaza but it didn't bring any peace. Israel tried to return Gaza to Egypt, but Egypt rejected the offer.
