There has been anti-Semitism in Belarus as well as other former Soviet republics. I believe this was mostly due to ignorance, which in recent years has been overcome due t o the internet & the global media making the world a smaller place. This is a very nice gesture from the Belarussians.

Against Begin's views, Ben-Gurion preserved the forces of the underground knowing that they would be needed to fight the invading Arab armies once the British leave Israel. He was right about that and therefore deserves to be Israel's greatest leader.
