I am not disputing the tradegy of loss of human life. But what you are trying to say is that hitler is the one who decides who is halachikly Jewish? One has nothing to do with the other. For the past 4000 years it has been passed on from father to son that Judaism goes through the mother. I for one will not break that chain because hitler decided to kill whoever had a Jewish father.

G-d wrote the Torah and gave it to Moses for those who are smart enough to cherish its treasures. To the contrary. It prevents assimilation in diaspora. Some Orthodox don't respect other affiliations. A man like Stav doesn't want separate Religion from State, of course; struggle for power, nothing to do with Torah. Just politics...
