1. Mr. Ben Yishai omits one important part of the equation:
Scar ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.14.13)
The security cooperation between Israel and the PA.
2. It really doesn't matter what you call it!
Riva ,   Gush Etzion   (11.14.13)
Young Arabs are being educated to be intensely hateful to Jews/Israelis, and that it's good to murder us! Because of this, there is really no possibility of making any kind of peace deal, especially when their tactics for achieving their goal of "acquiring land" is by going out and murdering innocent people and constantly threatening the Israeli public with VIOLENCE on a daily basis! Any other group would be thrown into prison! This is blackmail, and they are no better than kidnappers who demand money!
3. Nothing will change Arab mind-set.Therefore we must divorce!
tom ,   tel aviv   (11.14.13)
4. No, its is not a third intifada. It is rather the...
Hermon Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (11.14.13)
..."non-violent popular resistance" called for by the head of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Translated into Arabic, knifing, rock fire bombing, rock throwing on motorists, even gun fire are only acts of non-violent "protest". And, these are the people into whose arms Mr. Kerry, acting on behalf of Mr. Obama, push us!!
5. Impractical Solutions
Mark of Lewiston ,   USA   (11.14.13)
Ordering Abbas to tell aggrieved teenagers to suck it up when family members are jailed or killed by IDF forces or price taggers is not practical. In the current case, the perpetrators' family been arrested (probably being harshly questioned using enhanced methods) and another family has been burned out by price taggers. Probably creating more resentment. Since Israel cannot decide what really is inside and outside and is planning new cities beyond the barrier, what point to finishing the barrier? Especially since peace prospects are so dim. Two states is about dead as a concept. Integration and equal rights might be worth exploring, like in 1948.
6. One more thing
Dennis ,   Nj usa   (11.14.13)
Death Penalty. I know that we are supposed to be more humane and civilized than them, but it's would have sent a strong message if Eden Atias's murderer would not have gotten off that bus alive. Sounds brutal, but... So was his murder.
7. When Jews suffer it upsets me.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (11.14.13)
Its cold blooded murder. It creates fear in the mind of every Israeli-Jewish citizen. It must be stopped. No matter what the cost. Otr how hard it is to stop. It also shows the underlying hatred of the arabs towards the Jewish people. Kerry, the United States, incitement, delegitimization, foreign provocateurs, boycotts, the U.N, the E.U.,ideology of victimization-revenge, violence and hatred in arab society, and the very fact that a Jewish state with Jews exists are some of the causes of these on going incidents of murder and terror.
8. short memories
tiki ,   belgium   (11.14.13)
Arab Palestinians stabbing Israeli's in the street or their employers who trusted them, is NOT a new type of violence.
9. People around the world must understand this!
Dov ben David ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.14.13)
"This is not mass violence of the kind that the majority of the Palestinian population takes part in and the majority of the Israeli population is exposed to." This is not true at all. Even in the worst Intifada the majority of the Palestinian population didn't take part and the majority of the Israeli population wasn't exposed to it. The problem is that we do not reach a peace agreement with the Palestinians. We must get one ASAP. If we do not believe that we can get on, then we are doomed. Normal Jews will not immigrate to Israel and expose their children to a danger of death. Normal Israelis will take their children and leave Israel to make something out of their lives. Only Israel will contain of Jewish fascists . Israel will eventually implode, and the Zionist dream is gone. Our homeland will be a saga only, not a place for Jews. Therefore its important that we stop building on occupied territories, That are occupied and not liberated! I am of course accused of being a communist, socialist and anti Zionist. Nothing cannot be more wrong. I hate communism. Socialism is not my way. I am a liberal Zionist father of 5 children that wants social justice like most Israelis. My dream is that my children will have a future here and prosper in peace with our neighbours, the Palestinians. A dream that I see fade away for every day that passes.... I was a paratrooper, I did what I could. I defend Israel also today, but with my pen. However the enemy is also my fellow Jew, who is determined to have the whole cake for himself. A Jew who suffered a lot, but cannot see the suffering of the Palestinian people.
10. #9 You are naive
Sam ,   Canada   (11.14.13)
Israel can't reach agreement with the Palestinians because they don't want a Jewish Israel, whatever Israel offers them. Most Israelis know this and get on with life. Most Israelis would make peace but most Palestinians reject it.
11. Israel responds too slowly to escalating violence
Sam ,   Canada   (11.14.13)
Let the Palestinians know early in the game that violence won't be tolerated and then act as necessary. Stop looking over the shoulder at what the anti-semites say about the Israeli response.
12. Please jump correctly.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (11.14.13)
#9, by the way my son was a paratrooper. He told me sometimes when a paratrooper jumps incorrectly, unfortunately, he lands on his head.
13. Iran next to Tel Aviv, why?
michael Pielet ,   israel   (11.14.13)
#9, why are you hiding in Eilat? You are advocating the creation of an arab terrorist state in Judea and Samaria, aligned with and controlled by the islamic terrorist regime of Iran, located at the gates of Jerusalem and Gush Dan. Why not next to Eilat? Once the IDF and israeli security forces leave Judea and Samaria, all Israeli citizens including you, will face a war of terror, maimings, and murder. Why would you want to bring iran next to Tel Aviv?
14. Soft responses offer no deterence
Bear Klein   (11.14.13)
Apply death penalty to all terrorists as first deterrent. Second deterrent blow up the house the terrorist came from. Short of this they have nothing too lose.
15. #9--do you really think
arne ,   chicagousa   (11.14.13)
a peace agreement will stop the violence?I don't believe it will--only a separation and transfer of land might.
16. To # 15 Arne
Dov ben David ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.14.13)
If you are right, we are doomed
17. #9-you live in Eilat, you can't understand
i   (11.15.13)
You live in Eilat, the rest of the country suffered to suicide bombings per week. But we are strong. In response to the current terror wave, Israel should seal the border fence with electronic measures, and curb the number of work permits inside Israel. The Palestinians will be the main losers for this terror wave.
18. 2.
Birdi ,   Israel   (11.15.13)
Sad to say, you are 100% correct.
19. 16.
Birdi ,   Israel   (11.15.13)
No we are not doomed. Your dream will not materialize. We cannot share this land of ours with the Palestinians because they have been indoctrinated from birth to hate & murder us wherever they can. Members of our Knesset are now in the US explaining why we should never allow the Palestinians to take over & rule Judea & Samaria, which would be 9 miles wide. Do you really think a ''peace agreement'' signed by Abbas would stop all Palestinian violence? What you need to realize is that their wish is to slowly but surely take over every inch of Israel, killing us, in the process. They do not want to live in total peace with us Jews. If you desire safety & peace for your 5 kids, I suggest you start loving Israel more than you love yourself!
20. 9. PS
Birdi ,   Israel   (11.15.13)
You may have been a paratrooper but you are not defending Israel now, quite the opposite. The words you write with your pen, degrade this country. Your twisted logic shines through your every post. You'd be more appreciated if you posted your opinions on Ha'aretz!
21. # 17 I just love your headline!
Stan ,   Israel   (11.17.13)
On the other hand, you seem to think that respondents who live in Belgium, Canada, USA and all the world do understand - as long as they share your opinion.
22. 3rd intifada?
debby L ,   Holyweird, Ca USSA   (11.17.13)
Its the same old war that israel has encountered since the state was born. Rock throwing, knifings, shootings are nothing new. The only reason they are not more numerous is because of the security walls and IDf border guards. Without Jewish vigilance they would take us over in a flash. IF they could. Take them away and you will see a full blown guerrilla war.
