There was no peace before settlements. The US and EU are unable to convince Palestinians to accept a Jewish Israel, settlements or not. Being afraid of Muslim terrorism they blame not the Palestinians but Israel. The land is part of biblical Israel. If there will be no peace then Israel will build. The US and EU are just doing the Palestinian dirty work of trying to keep the Jews out. If the Palestinians wanted peace they would say so.
