1. Just community service!!!!
Ros ,   Tel Aviv   (12.03.13)
Isn't that ridiculous? What kind of example does that set for other soldiers!!
2. Once again the courts have said its OK to RAPE!
David ,   Israel   (12.03.13)
How can sentences like this build confidence in the judicial system, both civil and military, by the public? The police have become brutes, the Prosecution Service is either corrupt or incompetent or both and the judges are either to lazy to hear hear cases or are they the too, well, we all know what! The Knesset is constantly complaining the the High Court of Justice is interfering with legislation but our MKs, like Elkins and Levin, all piss and wind, don't have the courage to force the judiciary to act in the interests of the people! We must have minimum sentences NOW!
3. Such INjustice for the victims is typical of the US military
Rivkah   (12.03.13)
too. Just in the last week or so a former USNA graduate and US Marine Corps female officer testified to the US Congress about being criminally felony raped by other officers and the C.O. refused to prosecute them. She testified in support of legislation to take sexual attacks out of the chain of command since most commands do not want to prosecute rapes of females or males, not even gang rapes in showers of males. This is not Scriptural. Moses put rapists to death as well as rebellious children. That and other extreme remedies for crimes maintained social cohesion instead of social breakdown from letting criminals continue to terrorize the people. Sodomy was a death penalty offense as was adultery and fornication. But criminal rape is so far beyond mutual consent to sexual crimes that to not prosecute it and sentence the rapists to severe judgments is criminal in itself. WHY IS PRESIDENT KATSAV IN PRISON AND A COLONEL GOES FREE WITH COMMUNITY SERVICE????
4. Sexual harrassment is serious
Mark ,   London   (12.03.13)
But sexual harassment is not rape. To make the two equal undermines the serious effect of rape. Not knowing the detail of what this particular instance sexual harassment makes it impossible to judge whether the sentence was appropriate. The restitution of £200 would be totally inappropriate for anything approaching rape.

I agree with the injustice you bring up but I must correct you on Moses putting to death rapists and rebellious children. He never did. The Torah states that rebellious children be put to death but none have been put to death because the statements in the Torah written by Hashem have hidden spiritual meaning and not of the corporeal.
7. There's a job for the Colonel at the TSA where groping breas

breasts and inserting a plastic gloved finger into vaginas and rectums is part of the job description.
8. The Torah said if the parents among the Hebrews in the
Rivkah   (12.04.13)
wilderness under the government headed by MOSES, requested a rebellious child be put to death, that was allowed. Rebellion in children was a death penalty offense IF the parents requested that penalty. Deuteronomy 21:18,20 is where you can confirm that. In this age, rebellion among children is accepted and is not a death penalty offense. But there is still a death of the spiritual closeness to the Lord which is a kind of death to happiness and peace in the person's soul.
