2. Excellent no deal is the best deal.
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (12.07.13)
KEEP BUILDING ALL OF ISRAEL. A little "A and R " "Annexation and Reparation" Love Lieberman, a straight shooter.
3. Lieberman lives in a denial
Harri ,   EU   (12.07.13)
You cant keep Palestinians under occupation any more. The negotiation is not about finding a solution for Palestinians, because they will have their state or citizenship. The negotiation is about finding a secure solution for Israel when Palestinians will have their state, and you cant let that fail, although some of your ministers can't see the reality.
4. #3 - Yes, Harri
Devorah   (12.07.13)
It's the same kind of security one considers when containing hyenas at the zoo.
5. Restore the Balfour, demand a Coptic 2-state in Egypt.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (12.07.13)
The world is playing stupid - all know the corruption of the Balfour was a great crime and evidenced by the serial 2-state demands on tiny Palestine.

jonathan ,   aboriginaland   (12.07.13)
Your post about " reality " is absurd.Israel knows very well what the negotiations are about.Do you peak Arabic? No? Well, learn it because it will be extremely useful for the EU.
7. No 'deal' and Israel is denied the legitimacy it craves
lydia ,   Brisbane   (12.07.13)
NOTHING outside Israels unilaterally declared borders (as enshrined in the UN) belongs to Israel, not a grain of sand not a blade of grass.

Harry ,   Haifa, Israel.   (12.07.13)
Whatever Lola wants Lola gets.
9. TO LYDIA # 7 - I WOULD SUGGEST...
FO ,   Belgium   (12.07.13)
You keep busy with poetry, because concerning politics and history you have "not a grain of sand, not a blade of grass" of basic knowledge.
10. One state
Sue ,   Manchester   (12.07.13)
If the black and white communities in South Africa could reconcile maybe the white and Arab communiteis in the holy land can do the same. A one state for all races and religions.
11. TO BUTSeriously # 5
FO ,   Belgium   (12.07.13)
Balfour, a great crime. And what followed, the Mandate for Palestine, I suppose, an even greater crime! But the two other mandates, intended to create two huge Arab countries, Iraq and Syria-Lebanon, were masterpieces of political vision. Result: hundreds of thousands being murdered in Shiate-Sunnite conflict, a real success! While Israel (you consider being a great crime) became a flourishing, free, democratic country, leader in high-tec, with Noble-prize winners, etc..etc.. But seriously, how do you explain that???
12. #3 - And who will give them this State?
michael redbourn ,   Lisbon Portugal   (12.07.13)
The only chance right now is that King Hussein will be overthrown, and there is a growing chance of that. What is now Jordan will automatically become a Palestinian State because of the large number of Palestinians living there. Palestinians living in the West Bank will have the choice of remaining where they are or moving to the new "Palestine". Many will move. There's an excellent chance that Lieberman will be the next PM He has the sharpest brain in the Knesset and tells it how he sees it.
13. There were no Palesinians until Camp David
michael redbourn ,   Lisbon Portugal   (12.07.13)
When the borders were 'enshrined" there were no Palestinians. Israel agreed to call displaced people from Jordan and Egypt Palestinians at Camp David and the world went along with it. I'll avoid the discussion of who Australia belongs to as history obviously isn't your strong point ;-)
14. #7 is right
Darren Ben John ,   Townsville Australia   (12.07.13)
Israel was given a state, but soon decided it wanted its neighbour's lands too, and water, and gas, and oil........ Yay Lydia!
15. Deal or no Deal...answer is
Ivan ,   South Africa   (12.07.13)
accept Israel as a Jewish State and all will be winners..
16. At last we make progress with Lydia!
Claude ,   Cape Town & London   (12.07.13)
She accepts, even if reluctantly and very late in the day that IL is a legitimate state, recognised by the UN as the Jewish State . Since 1947/48 a number of other newly born states have been created from old unworkable and sometimes bloody conflicts. Maybe one day Palestine will exist alongside the Jewish Homeland of IL. I write this from a nation in mourning for a truly great man who understood leadership, compromise, forgiveness. Even though he made references to the Palestinian cause, he did so without any utterance of anti semitism, he understood the need for and supported the right of IL to exist and to exist as a Zionist and Jewish Homeland. We were lucky to have had him and not people like Lydia,to guide us towards a better path in this most magnificent country.
17. #7 & #14
Joav ,   Jerusalem   (12.07.13)
Say's the pair who live on a entire continent stolen from people who they now kill with Alcohol ....Hypocrites !!!
18. Parody on Foreign Minister
Hammer   (12.07.13)
Lieberman with his disruptive attidues is not fit to be a top dimplomat. I can fully understand the guy is in opposition and has a point. But his point has nothing to do with to be in coalition and FM with all benefits he get. You cannot have both. Go to opposition first, then talk this way, otherwise the whole thing is not credible and fit to the classical defenition of Sabotage.
19. Palestinians have born in West Bank
Harri ,   EU   (12.07.13)
Palestinians have born in West Bank. They have equal right to live in West Bank as you have right to live in Portugal (if you have born in Portugal). If you try to expel millions of Palestinians to Jordan, you have totally lost your mind. Trying it would destroy the legitimacy of Israel.
20. I do wish he would be clear what the land swaps are!
Mark ,   London   (12.07.13)
21. #17
Darren Ben John ,   Townsville Australia   (12.07.13)
Don't fall off your bar stool as you type. Australian Aboriginals receive a thousand times better treatment than you give the Palestinians. No road blocks or check points here, free medical treat by any doctor in any hospital, entry on any transportation system (they don;t have to sit down the back of the bus here) land rights, no tear gas shot at them indiscriminately etc. The alcohol they must buy like their fellow Aussie citizens have to do. It is their choice oh ignoramus!
22. Wrong man for the job
Mark ,   Cleveland USA   (12.07.13)
Lieberman is a real-life caricature of the Jew right out of the Arab media. A Russian who arrived in Israel recently and views the Arabs as the outsiders. Lieberman is the worst pick possible for foreign minister, although he does fit perfectly with Bibi's worldview, which demands that we stall, avoid and generally mess up any negotiation so that the Jewish State will not give up one inch of land, all while treating the Arabs within Israel as poorly as the law will allow so that they will leave. The right wing's plan aspires to mirror the North American treatment of the Indians. Sweep them aside, ignore them, and hope they disappear. These guys (and many Israelis) don't believe in peace talks that are realistic and fair. How can they succeed?
23. #7 You can throw as many hissy fits as you'd like
(12.07.13)
Thankfully, it doesn't matter a lick.
24. Lieberman
albert snow ,   sweden   (12.07.13)
Well I guess Lieberman want to rely on the Russians instead of US. But thats a dead end. Guess Lieberman is a Russian agent!
25. Fatso Lieberman, keep your filthy mouth shut...
Avi ,   Israel   (12.07.13)
26. True, no chance for Peace among Muslim Arabs anywhere in ME.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (12.07.13)
27. Poison of cynicism
Artur ,   Warsaw   (12.07.13)
Yeah, mr.Libermann as we all know him is really back! With his cynicism and lack of hope. It is unbelieveable those words could say the foreign minister of the crucial world country about main problem. He states this not for the first time. Words-"we musn't create expectations"-it is imposible to comment even. He should have been dismissed in one minute later after spoke this. This would happen in every democratic West country which Israel wants to be the part of it.Does he respect his compatriots?
28. #3 Harri EU: You have a pont.
Jim Yakamoto ,   Israel   (12.07.13)
The Palestine must have their State but the real fact is they don't want one. The want ALL of Israel but when they screw their country up, like Hamas in Gaza, who will they blame if they have their own state? I hope that you pro-Palestinian folk in Antisemitic Europe, we be prepared to fork out billions of Euros to finance the coffers of Abu Mazen and his minions. We all know that Israel can and will survive without the "Settlements" but you should ask yourself if Palestine can survive with Israel or do you expect Israelis, Jewish, Arab, Druze or Christian to support the State of Palestine which has the aim of destroying Israel and making the area Jew Free?
29. FM of Israel
Ori, ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (12.07.13)
Its about time we got a foreign minister with a little more insight sophistication and suitability for the job.
30. #15 Ivan: You are living in an illusion!
David ,   Israel   (12.07.13)
The Palestinians will never recognize Israel as a Jewish State or even as a State because they want ALL of Israel for themselves. Then they can do what Arabs and Muslim do best: kill, maim and destroy! Proof? Turn on your TV!
