I spent a year in the 80's as a kibbutz volunteer in northern Israel. I'm Canadian, but about 90% of the volunteers were Northern Europeans; Scandinavians, Dutch, Irish, Danes, but mostly British. Other than the few Germans there, the level of anti-Semitism expressed by these young Europeans was astonishing and incredibly virulent. Especially from the Brits. They mocked the Israelis behind their backs with the most vile anti-Semitic stereotypes and vivid verbal abuse imaginable. It was relentless.
