31. there is no hate here but non agreement.
Joe   (12.21.13)
Why does not agreeing with a lifestyle choice of homosexuality come down to "hate"? We may love yet strongly disagree on this issue and that is it. There is no homophobia here. There will always be a great deal of tension for those who feel this way and are religious, some streams will accept them ( reform etc) but more traditional will never do. You can never have your cake and eat it but demanding change of those who cannot for religious principles is not the answer. realising that there are borders in some worlds and seek the more liberal religious fields that glady accept them ( and there are plenty)
32. god created gays
bob ,   usa   (12.21.13)
it is true if you are a man or woman GOD created you...but it is truly documented in the BIBLE that homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of GOD...you are either with GOD or against GOD...in our hearts we know that what is found in the BIBLE is truth and nothing but the truth...what lies in your soul is both good and evil...pick wisely....
33. Ne 29. Fool and Idiot !
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (12.21.13)
HASHEM is the creator and is not the Author of Homosexuality. Homosexuality does not produce life, and homosexual DNA. Why do Ynetnews post all your crap ?. Arn.Sweden.
34. Until now,no proof gay are born gay
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (12.21.13)
although scientists are working hard on it.
35. Re; #6-"Just because I enjoy a Shiksa,"
bartleykulp@hotmail. ,   Haifa, Israel   (12.21.13)
You are minimizing the problem Al. You can still date and marry a Jewish girl. For a gay person to conform to halacha means for him/her to voluntarily live a life of isolation and celibacy. I would also like to add that sexual orientation for homosexuals is not born out of a lifestyle choice.
36. Love is important
Nick Z ,   New York, NY USA   (12.21.13)
#11 wrote: "Worshiping love, or anything else, is missing the target for Jews." And how is it "worshipping love" if the love in question is exactly the same as any other love except for the gender involved? "Hear o Israel the Lord our God is one Lord, and you shall LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and might, and your neighbor as yourself." "very pleasant have you been to me: your love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women" (2 Samuel 1:26) "Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity". (Ps. 133:1)
37. Complicated subject
Danny ,   London England   (12.22.13)
There's a difference between being attracted to other males and transgressing the prohibition in Leviticus. Given how much religious Jewish life focuses on the family I can' see people choosing a partner with whom one cannot have a family in the traditional way. I've never felt any sinas chinom. Our friends' son went off to San Francisco to be married by a lady Reform rabbi to his non-Jewish male 'partner'. We just accepted his partner as a house mate, they kept a vegetarian kosher kirtchen, and our friends' son continued to attend the family's Haredi shul. After a few years together they separated amicably. We try to accept people unconditionally, people who don't keep Shabbos, kashrus, mikveh or business ethics, people who feel they need to stay in the closet.
38. Reply to 24. Rabbi Eliezer Melamed
Akiva ,   NYC   (12.22.13)
If you read Rabbi Melamed's proposal for domestic partnership on Arutz Shevahe offers an alternative to avoid Ketuba and Get, allowing any two people to register a partnership -- no sex implied -- which either partner can dissolve with no questions asked.
39. God created Gays and Torah
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (12.22.13)
If you believe that God created a person gay, then you must believe that He wrote in the Torah that being gay is wrong. Can a robber say God created me as a robber? Can a murderer say God created me as a murderer? Every person has good and bad impulses that he must overcome. Good luck.
40. God also creates cures
Eli ,   Haifa   (12.22.13)
41. No, G-d did not create you gay.
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (12.22.13)
When you were born, there was not much in your head and you did not even have a name. But based on your physical appearance and human socialization, you have developed a certain temperament which favors males over females. That was the choice you made, not G-d. The Creator has given us life, but we determine, to some degree, how we will live this life.
42. Love is the most important mitzvah
Shachar ,   Eilat   (12.22.13)
Avoid the hatred-spewing religious and seculars, there is nothing holy or right about there chosen lifestyle. Stick to those who are willing to accept you, religious or secular, and you will have a wonderful fulfilling life.
43. to #41 turn the tables
iselin ,   oslo   (12.22.13)
If the majority of society were homosexual, you would be the odd man out. Gays are born, not made. Yes, sometimes Mother Nature (you call her god) makes a "mistake", just as she occasionally makes a mistake in producing children with birth defects (how do you explain that otherwise?). Don't pass judgment on a subject you know nothing about.
44. Questioning creation
Maroun ,   Lebanon   (12.22.13)
Guys, here we are questioning the creation and it is a sensitive matter. For Jews, Christians and Muslims being gay is a sin and against God will, "we created man and woman". if you are a blind believer or a fundamentalist you can't accept the idea homosexuality or gays. I am a scientific person and non believer, i don't believe in God creation (he created the weed by the way) and till now there is no clear definition of gay scientifically, It is all all about the openness of any society.
45. 43
jonathan ,   adelaide/Israel   (12.23.13)
Think again-if the majority of society were homosexual there soon would be only a small no of people left.
46. #43, if the majority of society practiced homosexuality...
Jake ,   USA   (12.23.13)
..and I presume you mean *only* homosexuality.. then society would die out, which just proves how unnatural homosexuality is.
47. So GOD The GREAT I AM is guilty.....
Calibi ,   Sydney Aust   (12.23.13)
So GOD The GREAT I AM is guilty to destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and murder those sodomites? What a guilty statement!!! (end)
48. Beautiful
Orthodox, religious, ,   gay and married   (12.23.13)
Thank you and I agree with 41
49. accusation is that not giving gay marrige amounts to bigotry
Miron ,   USA   (12.23.13)
is not a very convincing argument. Similarly is not having health insurance.
50. To No. 46
Bertram ,   London, UK   (12.23.13)
I presume you would say the same thing about those who practised *only* sexual abstention.
51. 37 Your method proved to be good..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (12.23.13)
since this boy could return "en tout bien, tout honneur" [without shame] to his society.
52. Gay religious=vegetarian cannibal...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (12.23.13)
same inconceivability .
53. ORA. JERUSALEM
Moshico ,   Jerusalem   (12.25.13)
Are you homophobic?
54. 53 I have much sympathy for them...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (12.28.13)
many gays are really great, but i do not approve their lifestyle and even less their claim to be religious, which is an oxymoron, since it is a Tora prohibition
