tom ,   tel aviv   (12.25.13)
Araberein WORLD would solve EVERYTHING! (almost)
32. a challenge to Mr. Kleinberg
(12.25.13)
Kleinberg divides the world into two, the uncivilized primitives who can behave as they want and the superior "advanced" countries. Ignoring the overt racism in his view, Kleinberg should identify which countries are the advanced ubermenschen he compares to Israel. Clearly Kleinberg does not consider the demonstrably worse US, Spain, France or the UK as "advanced". By not listing the advanced countries, Kleinberg prevents Israel from defending herself against his accusations. As for the ASA, Kleinberg should remember that their members supported the Soviet rape of Czechoslavkia.
33. Violation of Human Rights?
Aharon   (12.25.13)
Where is the violation of human rights? Critics of Israel constantly use this term to attack Israel, but they never give any specific examples. Is it a violation of human rights to treat people in hospitals or rescue handicapped children that are left for dead? We can't forget that there are two sides to the "palestinians'" condition. Blaming Israel for the "palestinians'" lack of ambition, their channeling of all their energy into attacking Israel, and their politicians pocketing foreign aid money is baseless and shows how ignorant they are. At the same time, they don't treat Judea and Samaria as part of Israel, but expect Israel to treat all the people that live there as Israeli citizens. Neglecting the fact that many "palestinians" are openly hostile to Israel. How would the U.S., France, Switzerland, U.K., Canada, etc. treat citizens or people within its borders that threatened to wipe their country off the map and kill all its people? I'm sure it would be less humane than Israel. The "palestinians" aren't guitar-wielding Kumbaya singers, they are weapons-wielding terrorists who wouldn't hesitate to kill.
34. #24
Yaron ,   Israel   (12.25.13)
No, what I describing are proper Israeli cities and neighborhoods with a majority of Israeli Arab citizens. Our so called democratic and equalitarian country. So imagine only what is happening in parts what is not proper Israel, but under total Israeli control (not Hamas, and not PA) One of the many reasons Israel never annexed those lands officially is that we would have to offer the residents there citizenship and equal rights, which is something that we don´t want
35. Aviad Kleinberg, Go Home. . . Take a pill !
Moshe ,   Usa   (12.25.13)
As the years go by, you'll be ashamed of your stupid "leftism"
36. #19 What deserves thought - is why these
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (12.25.13)
restrictions came about in the first place. Maybe stabbings and suicide bombings ad nauseum are the reason for these preventive measures? It's facetious of you to imply that the Israeli public is unaware of these factors..
37. (14) Yaron
tiki ,   belgium   (12.25.13)
For your information, I'am not some Belgian twit that you can spout your propaganda on. I know what happens in Israel and I certainly know what happens in France & Belgium (a country of three people (French/Flamish/German) that need 3 governments to rule them, because otherwise a Belgium Intifada will break out). European '''civilized & advanced" countries where Jews can't walk the streets anymore as Jews without being harassed or worse! Countries where bloody Israeli has replaced bloody Jew. **Just to let you know: Refugees always have a very difficult time where ever they come, but nowhere are they treated as good as in Israel. Be sure of it! Your talkback is absolutely shameful because YOU obviously don't know that nowhere in the world do Muslims have freedom as in Israel! That nowhere in the Muslim world are Christians free as in Israel and don't have to fear for their life. HOLEBI's can walk open & free and the gay parades are an asset to Israel. I know what happens in Gazastan & in Arab occupied Judea & Samaria but, as long as they glorify death over life, don't recognize Jews to live peacefully in 'their own historic country, don't throw out their own corrupt/tiran governments, stop being used for fools & propaganda tools, they will suffer.....and rightly so! So Yaron, please reserve your propaganda for people who love hearing Israeli's smear their own country. The boomerang will swing right back into your face......like it has for the appeasing universities & professors who are being boycotted by the followers of the 'human rights religion or like the journalists from HAARETZ who are being thrown out by their beloved Arab Palestinians from covering the 'holiday spirit in Betlehem. So Yaron, am I informed enough for you?
38. (34) from the 'so called democratic & equalitarian country
tiki ,   belgium   (12.25.13)
In the eyes of Hamas & PA there are no 'proper Israeli cities or Israel 'proper! YOU Yaron are the "settler living on "stolen Palestinian lands! This conflict is not about 'parts of the territory, it's about the whole territory! "Palestine instead of Israel"! When will you finally get it?
39. #38 Tiki
Yaron ,   Israel   (12.25.13)
Tiki, I am afraid you are not informed enough, or you don't want to be informed. "This conflict is not about 'parts of the territory, it's about the whole territory! " Exactly this is what Hamas is believing. Note exactly the majority of the current Israeli government thinks the same. "European '''civilized & advanced" countries where Jews can't walk the streets anymore as Jews without being harassed or worse! " You have absolutely no proportions. I come from Belgium and recently made aliyah. How many times were you personally harrased or discriminated?? Here ALL the arabs are harrassed and discriminated everyday! Et les Israeliens n ont pas leurs langues dans la poche. Arabs live much better in all western countries than in Israel or occupied territories. I have some Israeli Arab friends from Jerusalem coming to visit us in the Tel Aviv region, and they see the parks we have for the kids, the public transportation that passes through the city, the schools we have,... And you know what most Israeli's know that, and they are ok with that. If you have the chance watch a satiric TV serie called Avoda Aravit, In an episode you have a Jew that decide to live in an East Jerusalem Arab village.
40. (39) Yaron
tiki ,   belgium   (12.25.13)
Yaron, making aliyah doesn't make one an expert. By the way, why did you move from Belgian utopia to this ''"supposedly democratic & eqalitarian but terrible place where they discriminate against everything not Jewish? How many times I personally was harassed/discriminated against is not an argument. Read the newspapers, listen to the stories from people who were and 'only because they looked Jewish, wore a kippah or spoke Hebrew! "The majority of the current Israeli government thinks that the problem is not about a part of the territory but all of the territory" (thank G-d they are not as naive as you)......like HAMAS. Yaron, your answer proves the point from my first sentence. "Arabs live much better in Western countries than in Israel or disputed territories". You forgot to complete your sentence, which should be: "Other Arab countries! That's why there are so many Arabs in Western countries and I guarantee that, without knowing you, you wouldn't trade places with them! The life of the Arabs in the disputed area's is like it is because the ruling parties Hamas & the PA are so 'democratic & equalitarian. Now, 95% of the Israeli Arabs participate fully in Israeli society and are not 'harassed & discriminated' every day. I agree that this sometimes happens, like in Europe and elsewhere in the world, but certainly not as much as Arab women/Jews and HOLEBI's in Arab countries About your Arab friends from Jerusalem who never saw parks/public transport or schools like in TA. They must be willfully blind & deaf, like you!
41. @ Yaron
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (12.25.13)
“I come from Belgium and recently made aliyah.” And you’re already an expert? What do you know of Israeli Arabs, many of whom live in undeclared meterage of unlicensed buildings, pay taxes only on the declared meterage, then cry that the government doesn’t provide the services they deserve. What do you know of Jewish Israelis who go through seven circles of bureaucratic Hell to add a room to their homes, while Arab Israelis add entire dwelling units without requesting building permits, yet it’s a rare day when an illegal Arab home is demolished, while it’s a common occurrence that any illegal addition in a Jewish is destroyed or heavily fined almost every week in Jewish cities. Look in the court records and find out for yourself, it's a matter of public record. “Arabs live much better in all western countries than in Israel or occupied territories.” Not all of them. I would hardly call the council houses in London, Liverpool and Manchester where Arab families live in Britain as “better conditions than in Israel”. The Moroccans around Paris have turned their neighborhoods into slums where even the police don't go in groups of less than ten. You'll find similar situations all over Europe where there are concentrations of Arab immigrants. Have you ever been inside any of the Arab houses in Ara, Arara, Musmus or Umm-el-Fahem? Most Jewish Israelis don’t live in that kind of luxury. As for the disputed territories, see if you can find out why Solel Boneh built dozens of buildings according to Israeli standards in the Gaza Strip between 1967 and 1971, yet they remained empty because the PLO threatened potential residents from the refugee camps that they would be considered traitors if they left the camps.

solomon ,   bklyn   (12.26.13)
Many arab areas are as you say, but not all. Many areas are jealously guarded by Hamas and the PA, whether they control them or not, and would be (and have been) against anything Israel does there, including improving the lot of the inhabitants. You see with only one eye. Vision is always better with both eyes wide open.
43. To Be OR Not To BE
Norman Gellman ,   Rehovot   (12.26.13)
What other country is threatened with extinction? The so called "poor Palestinians" do not recognize the legitimate existence of Israel & are performing terrorist activities all the time. In contrast Israel allows many Palestinians to work in Israel and in some cases provides medical assistance. These boycotters are looking at Israel through the Palestinian biased propaganda.
44. Human rights
Norman ,   Atlit   (12.26.13)
Aviad Do you remember why we built The walls that restrict Arab movement-- Because we want to live and not be slaughtered-if it restricts their movement then too bad. The West has Only one aim -the elimination of the Jews--yes YOU and I.Please try to understand . Let us all be proud Jews Then they will not harm us.
45. Reply to 6. Johns Hopkins University
Akiva ,   NYC   (12.26.13)
A study found a few years back that only two top American universities with Near Eastern Studies research departments did NOT receive financial support from Arab states or Islamic foundations -- Johns Hopkins and Princeton.
46. #18 Settlements are just an excuse!
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (12.26.13)
If it wasn't settlements it would be something else entirely. Why worry about ones credibility amongst a bunch of idiots that can't or refuse to see that. What matters is that at the end of the day you non-believers will still be idiots. In the words of one of our posters "BUILD BABY BUILD" Keep building faster and better. That's the answer!
47. #18
solomon ,   bklyn   (12.27.13)
The arabs attacked before the settlements, even before Israel was reborn. They make up different "reasons" for their upset. Their real upset is a Jewish state in their midst. Settlements have little if anything to do with it. There is no such thing as their credibility.
48. Academics, not
Etienne Prinsloo ,   Nova Scotia Canada   (12.28.13)
Many US universities were platforms for communism prior to the collapse of the Eastern Bloc. Those academics subsequently found themselves without direction and Islam nicely fills that vacuum. Gormless they attack Israel to enhance their "social standing" and egos. West European countries are not locked in a struggle for survival, their neighbours don't call for their destruction, they don't launch rockets at their nursery schools and towns. So called liberal academics are some of the blindest people on the planet it seems.
