(12.23.13)
3. Too bad Kerry wasn't visiting Ashkelon at the time
barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (12.23.13)
He and the others need to get a taste of these rocket attacks. They come from their peaceful existences and preach to other nations when they do not have the experience. Yes, I know, Kerry was in Viet Nam or something - but does he have experience with attacks and danger to his own family? It is one thing to fight as a soldier and another to protect your family.
4. Hit back and hard
Philip ,   Afula, Israel   (12.23.13)
Why should we tolerate even one rocket.
5. the Western Palestinian supporters have to pay
k ,   US   (12.23.13)

6. Thank you Livni for your wonderful job

7. Transferred water pumps, got rockets in return.

8. Rocket Fire from Gaza
Carl ,   Marblehead, USA   (12.23.13)
It is possible that the rocket was jsut delivering a "thank you note" for the fuel that Israel provided to Gaza just a few days ago. No? Perhaps Israel should consider its own thank you gesture.
9. RE: HAMAS
shai shahar ,   Utrecht, Holland   (12.23.13)
The Hamas strategy is simple: force Israel to make peace on their terms, or commit genocide. There is no middle ground or compromise in their ideology. How DO you fight an enemy that thinks dying for a cause is better than living for one?
10. Tried to treat Haniyeh's critically ill granddaughter ...
Devorah   (12.23.13)
and got rockets in return.
11. Blast the culprits!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (12.23.13)
Israel should retaliate very strongly. These child killers don't understand any other way. And in the future do note help the b-----ds with oil or anything else. They are the worst humanity represents and you don't deal with such scum.
12. To: No. 9
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.23.13)
They're actually far more interested in killing for their cause -- they are terrorists, not freedom fighters, after all -- than in dying for their cause, but if that's their ideology, why not accommodate them? Why should the good citizens of Israel have to live in constant fear of missile and mortar attacks? If it's war they want, well, let's bring it to them in a way that makes perfectly clear Israel's intent to live on Israel's terms; not the terms of a terrorist rabble. I suppose we can afford to be humanitarian, and alert the European Union as to our intent -- the destruction of Gaza, once and for final -- and give the EU member states ample opportunity to accept Gazans into their respective countries. The way the EU pays lip service to the terrorist denizens of Gaza, it should be quite interesting to see if they are willing to put their money where their mouths are. I'm betting they won't, but let's see. In ten years, countries such as Sweden, Luxembourg and Belgium are going to lose their identities as European nations. Slightly longer for the Netherlands. Norway, not an EU member, is halfway there. Let the bleeding heart Norwegians accept the terrorist rabble from Gaza in their midst. Were I a Norwegian, I would certainly take the position that a quick demise is far better than a slow death. Taking in Gazans will simply hasten the inevitable. And it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of mealy-mouthed hypocrites.
13. short and long term
tom ,   toronto, canada   (12.24.13)
Israel's long-term goal must be the overthrow of hamas and any other islamist death-cult regime. in the short-term that will cause considerable pain for the communities bordering on gaza, as the islamists try to fight back, but ultimately it's a choice between short-term pain or an interminable war of attrition with ever-escalating weaponry and casualties. if you seek peace, prepare for war.
