"Israir CEO Uri Sirkis believes that Israeli airlines will be forced to merge in order to survive". Well there's El Al which operates many direct flights from the United States, Europe, the Far East, and Africa. And Arkia and Israir operate flights from central locations in Europe. El Al gets huge amounts of money from the government, because of its "security costs", so why can't it compete! Israel's airline problems are unions and lazy management.
