1. Syngas could be a game-changer
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (12.26.13)
If NewCO2fuel can convert CO2 to syngas, it changes everything. It will put an end to the billion-dollar carbon sequestration schemes, and even potentially revitalize the coal business. That sounds like a move to "dirty", but consider. It will take cheap energy to lift the billions counted among the world's poor out of poverty, and there's a lot of cheap coal around. And soon enough folks will realize coal ash can be recycled into building material - just as the Romans used volcanic ash in their road building. I should also note that I was touting natural gas (and clean diesel) as the way forward for vehicles years ago, even as the hype for Better Place was building. I'm also glad to read the government intends to support research and development, but will let the market decide which succeeds. That puts Israel over the US, which wasted tens of billions on government-favored solutions, most of which came to naught.
2. Just what our earth needs - MORE PETROCHEMICALS into the air
For the love of ,   MONEY   (12.27.13)
What has to happen for man to wake up and stop his greed? I presume nothing will change until the sea level rises to the point that half of the world is under water.... Mankind will destroy the world and humanity too.
3. Free, Clean Solar Energy is all we need.
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (12.27.13)
No more polluting our environment with fossil fuels just to make money. Only sick sociopaths dirty up the place where they live.
4. Not True. NO Support from Government
Yoni   (12.28.13)
There is NO support from Israel Government for "this plan". One of our companies in Israel represents several of the leading automotive manufacturers of alternative fuel technologies. The Transportation Ministry refuses entry of these vehicles which fully homologated and are already in use throughout the United States and Europe. We are unable to obtain any permission to demonstrate or test these vehicles in Israel and the Fuel Choices Initiative has acknowledged they may do nothing to assist, stating they haven't any power. Israel Katz claims to want competition and support these cutting edge technologies but his clerks demand a 5,000,000 NIS bank guarantee, a showroom, service center and the list goes on and on just to bring the first of these vehicles in for testing. Testing which the Transportation Ministry basically requires to assure compatibility with local climate and environmental conditions. Yes, I hear you laughing. It is exceptional the hypocrisy.
