The article states, " Israel will not tolerate any violations of United Nations resolution 1701" 1701 was violated by Lebanon from day 1 after it was passed. Among the provisions of 1701 is disarming Hezbollah. Israel has watched as Hezbollah has not only rearmed but acquired enough rockets to reach and destroy all of Israel's major population centers. Israel's non-response to repeated violations of 1701 such as rocket attacks and sniper killings of Israeli border guards shows continual weakness that will only embolden the enemy. Maybe the article's author should read 1701. 1701 - provision #8: full implementation of the relevant provisions of the Taif Accords, and of resolutions 1559 (2004) and 1680 (2006), that require the disarmament of all armed groups in Lebanon, so that, pursuant to the Lebanese cabinet decision of 27 July 2006, there will be no weapons or authority in Lebanon other than that of the Lebanese State;
5. Idiot putz Nasrallah is given.....
Gideon Reader   (12.29.13)
..a BIG lesson in common sense. You never, NEVER; poke that big doggy napping in the Sun. Unless that is you are stupid enough to think that he will not open an eye and procede to bite the poop out of you. However, some low intelect people appear to never learn, though regardless of how clear the eventual probable results are laid out for them. Hip and thigh doofus. Hip and thigh.
6. no matter
alexi   (12.29.13)
no matterr how much peri, german, lapid, livni, peres, peretz, gal on,herzog, beilin, ben ami, merridor want the arabs to be peaceful to israel and no matter how many concessions they make, arabs will never make peace, just cold armistice arrangements. So these are the guys to defend the state back in 48-ther ewould be no state. Livni did no combat, herzog nothing special, peretz no understanding as 2006 demonstrated, ben ami and beilin-2 weak pacifists, and the rest media or non combat save peri. and peri-Yaalon is 1000X better than you so shut up with your degree in arab culture. Unless israel holds on to jordan valley, then pack up and get out of tel aviv. and the majoriity who will fight to defend the state may also pack up and leave you to the mercy of haniyeh. Six millioin die and you give up the jordan valley???-you make me sick!
7. I wish our beloved President Obama
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.29.13)
Could prevent a carnage. After all, he is a Nobel peace laureate.
8. It wasn't Hezbollah who fired the missiles
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (12.29.13)
The village idiot knows that before the Poet Laureate This was the Free Syrian Army, supported by the United Kingdom and the United States of America trying to drag Israel into the war, to tie down Hezbollah forces in Lebanon.
9. to #5: reread the article again, s l o w l y
tom ,   toronto, canada   (12.29.13)
as this article says, the rockets were probably not fired by hezbollah, but by some group interested in dragging israel and hezbollah into a fight, possibly to take the pressure off the jihadi rebels in syria. but even if they were fired by hezbollah, what we think of as "losses", the death-cult calls "martyrdom". if you are counting on nasrallah to show any hesitation in sacrificing his followers, "for the cause", you are making a major miscalculation - they believe they are on a mission from god, and that they will be rewarded for killing innicents and committing suicide. (both of which are forbidden by islam.)

Brod ,   USA   (12.30.13)
Messages don't deter external aggressions. Israel needs action to strengthen its deterrence.
13. Correct.....fora time ..
Fahd Alhaebyn ,   Madina , KSA   (12.30.13)
Reasonable analyses . The Oranian strategists. Would exactly cact rationally and pick up it's enemies one by one , first ensure that Assad regime survives and all that make even more valuable weak and dependent on Iran and Hozb Allah . Hiz Ballah would be used against Israel only for the all important nuclear weapon .ao yes the article is corrects, the time has not come for Iran to deploy Hizb Allah south of the border , one broader at a time please .
14. The post at No. 7 is not mine.

"prevent a carnage?" C'mon, YNet. My English language skills are far better than that -- you should know that by now. Have the grace to delete the offending post. (In the event YOUR English language skills are not up to snuff, it would be "prevent carnage." No need for a modifier.
