1. I wonder if this decision is based on facts or political-
Vlad   (12.30.13)
-correctness
2. Save me from Chelm!
Michael Pielet ,   Israel   (12.30.13)
The article as well as the policy is ridiculous. Better idea, let pregnant women, only pregnant women be fighter "jocks" on F-16s. They should be allowed to fly until they give birth and later when they are nursing their babies. If they are shot down over Lebanon or Iran? No problem we will trade every terrorist prisoner for the return of their body and the fetus.
3. No need for a second seat pilot.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (12.30.13)
better idea put a gynecologist in the planes to assist in an airborne birth. Let us get serious.
4. #3 you know s--t about planes and women!
Steve   (12.30.13)
These women are transport pilots. There is no reason they cannot sit at the controls of a King air or C-130 if they are not beyond their second trimester. They will not be conducting missions in a combat aircraft. Basically flying a mini van.
5. I Can't Tell?
GF ,   Jerusalem   (12.30.13)
I can't tell who's more irresponsible, the Air Force or the Mother?
6. Nice Comments ... Guys

Seems I am the first woman who applauds the strength and courage of these Lionesses of Judah. Bravo, Ladies, and may G-d be with you. Am Yisrael Chai!

8. Flying policy

I am very surprised to read these comments about The new IAF police These women are protecting Israel they deserve our respect Oh these guys that are writing these comments Are probably always been sitting on there sofa comfortably and never left a the finger for the state of israel Women are no different than men and certainly not in the eyes of our enemy These comments are sexist and stupid IAF is among the best Air Force in the world and I don't things that some guys in their living room can comment and criticize top commanders
9. This is PC insanity ran amok
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (12.30.13)
10. #7..how are things in the Bronze Age?
Steve   (12.30.13)
Actually one out of two however I will defer to the experts for the other one. Flying a modern pressurized turbo prop aircraft is not like being in the ball turret of a B17, and most western air forces share the same policy. You have a problem with woman working out of the house Michael, don't you?
11. Politically correct?
Michael Pielet ,   Israel   (12.30.13)
Actually, Steve I do have a problem with young pregnant ladies flying any type of military aircraft in the defense of the Jewish nation. Political correctness is not one of my chief concerns. My concern is the best pilot in the aircraft, all types, and pregnant ladies do not qualify. By the way my daughter, not pregnant, held a high level position with responsibility in the I.DF. Do not confuse political correctness, with the security of the nation!
12. Trust me, you've got IAF wings and you're good!
Steve   (12.31.13)
I have never been a proponent of PC, in fact quite the opposite, but this is not a PC issue. I have known several female pilots (my check pilot was female) All consummate professionals and as capable as any pilot with a penis.. If you would like to know what female pilots are capable of read about the "Night Witches" employed by the soviets during WW2 or the lady pilots who ferried many U.S. bombers and fighters over the North Atlantic during the war. Women pilots are not a big deal anymore.
13. I guess as long as there's another pilot
chana ,   jerusalem   (12.31.13)
then she should be okay... But honestly, letting pregnant women fly planes is a bad idea. Too many risks involved...
