1. Unbelievable
B ,   Tel Aviv   (01.05.14)
How can they be allowed to complain to United Nations??? They are illegal and unwanted here, how can a country be forced to accept people who are not its citizens?????? United Nations should find them a home.
2. You failed to mention
Gilad P ,   Florentin   (01.05.14)
They requested to have a strike and the police told them NO, so they said they would do it anyway. I don't think they are scared at all!! No reapect for Israel or its laws. Please add that into the article as its reported this way on all other new sites including Hebrew version of Ynet.
3. stop telling lies they are not a refugies
alex   (01.05.14)

4. Illegal workers on 'strike'
Ron M ,   South Tel Aviv   (01.05.14)
53,000 strong? Only goes to show how unbelievable this problem became, that 50,000 people illegally infiltrated our country in a matter of under 2 years. Don't strike from your illegal job in Israel, take the 3000+ dollars we are offering and go back home to work, this is not a destination for illegal workers. Take the Israeli Hotline for illegal migrants inciters with you, since all they choose to do is undermine Israeli society. These illegals will never be given citizenship, they can strike, protest, and call the 'UN' all they want.
5. WIN WIN
Avi Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (01.05.14)
Choice A: Go back to work and earn the same current pay of 80 NIS a day with no health or social benefits or, Choice B: Don't go to work, get out of jail, go back to jail and get three meals a day and a college degree and UN refugee status - all for free!
6. Well, as I see it, 50,000 refugees want to strike - okay
barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (01.05.14)
That leaves 50,000 job openings for unemployed legal Israeli's.
7. Shame ,shame and more shame
Natangal Galkowicz ,   Bror hail   (01.05.14)
Yes , as an Israeli and a Jew , I feel deeply ashamed what the Israeli government are doing to the asylum seekers . We , as Jews , have been thru this for. Thousands of years , and we cannot act like this . It's time that the people of Israel start defending those people . Our government have another "agenda"
8. What a beautiful morning in South Tel Aviv.

9. to #8, THey should move to Noth Tel Aviv

10. #9 - if they do, you'll see action
William ,   Israel   (01.06.14)
Just like the rockets from Hamas. The bleeding heart Leftists decried the IDF and the govt for security measures against "poor Gazans", until rockets made it near Tel Aviv...then suddenly the Lefties were demanding the IDF trounce Hamas right away.
11. 53,000 asylum seekers??
William ,   Israel   (01.06.14)
Besides the fact that most cannot prove their lives are in danger, nor meet the intl law requirements by asylum seekers to request asylum "in the first safe country they reach" - which in this case would be Egypt - are we really to believe 53,000 of them are all in danger?? If that's true, then the UN has bigger issues in the world like containing mass killings, rape, and war in the origins of these 53,000 people. But, there isn't.
