The rates for penile cancer in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Japan, where virtually no one is circumcised, and the US, where most men of the age at which penile cancer strikes are now circumcised, are all around 1 incident per 100,000. To be even more exact, Finland has fewer incidents than the US. To use the same deductive reasoning for circumcision, does that mean that saunas prevent penile cancer? Ii is proven that the HPV virus is responsible for penile cancer, and in the US, the rate of HPV in circumcised men is now higher than in intact men (look up penile cancer in your search engine). Using medical justification as a reason for cutting babies (when we all know that medicine has nothing to do with it in this forum) is nonsensical. I am not pretending to be Jewish, I am 100%, but I dare to disagree when I think it is wrong. Let the boys decide on their own when they are old enough.
32. iselin: The Jews are fine, really.

22 was written for you. You can live as you wish.
33. Iselin , not only this penile cancer
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.10.14)
When you can't refute something you JUMP to another topic , now it's penile cancer . I say that girls , preferred US , the Jewish circumcised boys above the non circumcised non Jewish ones . I say that it's also a SIGN that you belong to the great Jewish people , that's why so many , if not most , seculars have their boys circumcised . And it's easier to clean too . Let the boy decide ? Did he decided to be born ? You dare to disagree , fine . But I dare to put you in the same basket as anti-Semites .

But Charles, some posters have indeed brought up penile cancer as a reason to circumcision, so it is not inappropriate to point out that it is not a simple question of have the cut or get the cancer. Good on you if you feel having had it (the cut, not the cancer) has given you. .. certain benefits.

I did not jump to another topic. It was in response to another talkback. As for your last sentence, that schoolyard quote: Sticks and stones... you know the rest. Put me in any basket you wish, if that's the only way you can handle it. It's your hang-up. Trying to guilt-trip me by association doesn't work.

Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.11.14)
Yes , one did it . But this was not the MAIN reason for having a circumcision . Iselin first told about cleaning [ water and soap ! ] then she said that medicine has nothing to with it , in this forum . She did not answer yet my : Did he decided to be born ? Probably that she will "disappear" on this subject .
37. 35 . Let the boy decide ? TRY # 2
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.12.14)
Did he decide to be born ? At 18 it's a surgical intervention , not many people like it . It's also a psychological harm as not many men enjoy it when their penis is manipulated by a man . As for your :sticks and stones ...you must know that English is only my THIRD tongue , Hebrew # 4 , so English sayings are not my speciality . Your "learn to spell" showed your "level" . Yes , you are in the SAME basket as anti-Semites by opposing , without any serious reason , the Brith Mila . As I told it already , I'm the ONLY one who has a serious reason to oppose , but I'm 100 % in favor .

The saying or taunt is: Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. No one is capable of deciding to be born or has any power to change it, so it is not a valid comparison. Someone always decides on a circumcision, and it is a surgical intervention even in an infant. So I don't have a serious reason to oppose circumcision? What about that poor baby in Pittsburgh who got his penis cut off by a mohel? What about other accidents and complications? Babies have actually died from it. It doesn't happen often, but once is too many. The bottom line again is no circumcisions= no botched circumcisions. Unavoidable conclusion.
39. Iselin . No cars = no road accidents
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.12.14)
No baby has the power to decide if he wanted to be born or not . The parents decide to "make" him . And they decide to make him belonging to the Jewish people too . There is a difference between a circumcision on a 8 day baby [ it heals in 2-3 days ] and an adult . Not to talk about the psychological impact . For you some "accidents" in such acts are enough to condemn it . Why do you use a car ? a bus ? a train ? There are maybe more accidents there , and many victims were sometimes not even using them . The bottom line here is the same as with brith Mila , but only those who share their ideas with antisemites can't accept it .
40. let's end this one
iselin ,   oslo   (01.12.14)
Perhaps you are worried that if parents wait until their son is old enough to decide for himself that he might just opt out of getting it done. Rather force it on him when he is too young to protest. Just as I am in favor of a woman's right to choose, I am also in favor of a child's right to remain whole until he is of an age to make that choice himself. Antisemitism has nothing to do with it, in spite of what you say. Jews are part of the mainstream in most modern societies, so the idea of belonging to a separate people is not so appealing or important as it was earlier. There is no longer a feeling of us against them or bunker mentality. That's what assimilation is all about. As for the car/train argument, it's just plain silly.
41. 40 . No Iselin
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.13.14)
As I said , not many people like surgery . Parents FORCED their son to be born , so they can decide to perform Brit Mila on him . I didn't hear many boys complaining about being circumcised . And I , who had a reason , didn't do it either . Having undergone Brit Mila makes a boy feeling that he BELONGS to the Jewish people . You said that Brit Mila can be dangerous , cars etc... kill more people , so silly only for you who share your ideas with anti-Semites , while claiming to be Jewish

iselin ,   oslo   (01.13.14)
Considering where you live and the environment in which you find/found yourself, I am not surprised that you didn't/don't hear many boys complaining. However, there is a big world out there with plenty of websites and blogs where circumcised men, mostly American, do indeed complain. Transportation accidents are random; any accident having to do with circumcision is not. It is a planned invasive act. Quite a difference. Is it so hard for you to believe that there are Jews who oppose circumcision that you try to deny me my background?
43. 42 ,
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.14.14)
you "invented" the envirronement where I live . It are mostly seculars , if not anti religious . Road accident random ? but they kill thousands of people . Brit Mila is a planned act , as is driving . Invasive ? Not at all . Yes , there are Jews who oppose Brit Mila , I put them in the same basket . Your background is maybe Jewish , but it's ONLY your background , not you .
44. 42 not invasive
iselin ,   oslo   (01.15.14)
Cutting off a piece of a living person's body is invasive.
45. 44 . NOT invasive at all
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.15.14)
It's invasive only for someone who pretends to have a Jewish "background" . The Mohel does NOT enter the body ., that would be "invasive" . Over and out , if you understand what this means [ I will not say that you talk to yourself , not my level ]
46. would you prefer the word amputation?
iselin ,   oslo   (01.16.14)
47. Herpes Because of Circumcision Is A Sin
Lawrence Dickerson ,   Bremerton,USA   (05.19.14)
To purposefully inflict a newborn with herpes as has been reported in the US and the contamination came from Mohels who had previously been diagnosed with the disease,is a total sin and unconscionable.Where in the Talmud or Tenach is it allowable for Jewish newborn males to be treated as such? What is worse the rabbi's followers refuse to report these cases to the Gentile representatives.Yes!There is coverup and it is larger than one would;d imagine.
