6. #2 Some facts for you, Natan
1. A recent expose by Yediot Ahronot with an undercover reporter posing as an African migrant, totally debunked this theory, and showed how the vast majority of these people are in effect merely work migrants.
2. People are considered "refugees" only after they crossed one border. If indeed they were fleeing persecution, they could have easily settled in Egypt, or other near countries like Ethiopia, Kenya or Uganda. Why would they march over 2000 km in the Sahara to the nearest Western country?
3. Israel has many poor people of its own that need care. It is inconceivable to spend money on the healthcare of these infiltrators, on the expense of Israel's elderly and destitute people.
4. Since the infiltrators came to South Tel Aviv, crime has risen dramatically - rape, violence, robbery, and terrorizing people. South TA has become a slum that ordinary Israelis fear entering.
5. All other Western countries treat infiltrators similarly if not worse. Show me another country that offers them $1000 each upon deportation?
