The Army and the Ministry of Defence will always use the lack of money card to try and squeeze additional monies out of the national budget, and as far as they are concerned to hell with health, education, social welfare etc. If they cut down on the number of senior officers who get fat salaries and benefits, it they cut down on giving retirees at 45 high pensions etc, if they got out of the centres of the cities and sold the bases there then they could come to the country with their complaints. Until stop crying and re-arrange you present finances accordingly.

and don't forget the inflated disability payments for non-service related injury. WIthout Defense Ministry corruption, we could lower taxes and have money for education and Iron Dome

that we need to reconfigure the IDF to meet the new threats of the 21st century. There is no longer a requirement for hundreds of tanks charging over the deserts of Egypt on their way to Cairo. Get rid of a squadron of tanks and use the money saved to deploy the missile batteries

Kerry and Obama have made it clear that unless Bibi accepts the peace Deal they are forcing on both him and Abbas, they US will not have any funds to give Israel for the Iron Dome. Also if they don't agee to the deal, the US rep to the UN will 'be unfortunatly out of the room' the next time the Secutity Council votes for trade sanctions, or the refer Israel to the ICC and the US veto is the only thing to stop it.

and how about a transparent budget to be published every year. Time that the armed forces finances were managed in a professional way after all these years.Same for money going to the west bank settlements, everything must be accounted for.
7. lapdi. livni, and bibi
salim   (01.11.14)
all 3 seem to know nothing about military needs..Lapid never served as a soldier(I wonder why0, livni served in mossad but she is dumb, dumb, and bibi is overrated and rests on yoni's reputation. israel needs a priori, all of the iron dome it can place asap and quick development of magic wand since it has to be prepared. Bibi doesn't understand this. israeli leadership is a joke especially leiberman who stands for nothing praising kerry's bs plan showing he understands nothing about military geography. By the way, probably half of israeli arabs are happy in the state but too scared to say so. The law deals with terror and treason. if israeli arabs want to join their brothers in palestine, fine go ahead but don't push them. if they commit serious crimes, remove their citizenshi adn dump them in jordan.
8. time to slaughter the sacred cow!

the f-35, even if it fulfills every promise, will still be too little too late for any confrontation with iran, and cost at least twice as much as the next best option (f-15 stealth eagle or the pak-fa with israeli avionics). canceling israel's f-35s would not only give washington a well-deserved one-finger salute, but would also free up enough budget to complete the iron dome AND the magic wand systems, before the promised date of the f-35! seeing as how israel needs the anti-missile defence, and already has a superior air force capable of defeating any other in the region, the conclusion is obvious - the sacred cow has to go.
