1. Nope
Daniel   (01.12.14)
There are around twenty countries in the world where gay people can marry legally, Israel is not among those countries. So no, Israel is not "one of the world's most progressive countries in terms of gay rights."
2. the nazi Ernst Röhm co-founder of SA was gay !
Frederic ,   Kefar Saba   (01.12.14)
A important part of the Sturmabteilung (Storm Battalion) was gay.
3. WHY?
Reuven ,   Petach Tikvah   (01.12.14)
Why should there be a special memorial inaugurated for homosexuals? Why should any group be identified for special remembrance over another? Does this mean that there should be other separate memorials for other minority groups who died at the hands of the Nazis? There is no justification for such a memorial. The Nazis disposed of anybody that did not measure up to their so called standard. The Nazis did not care if they were homosexual or hetrosexual - you just had to be Jewish that was enough. Maybe the Tel Aviv municipality does not realize that?

5. #3 Because
Igor ,   Israel   (01.13.14)
Nazis killed homosexuals as homosexuals. The Nazis did not care if they were Jewish or not Jewish - you just had to be homosexual that was enough. I'm straight and I'm Jewish and brother of my grandma was killed in Majdanek - but I realize that.
6. #2 Do you have a point?
Daniel   (01.12.14)
Some nazis were gay, most nazis were straight. And so? Some Italians are gay, most Italians are straight. Some Americans are gay, most Americans are straight. Some Israelis are gay, most Israelis are straight. Is this news to you?!?
7. Nazi gays vs. femmes
Uzi ,   TA Israel   (01.12.14)
Nazi ideology is built on Greco-Roman man-to-man-to-boys sex said to be "real men sexuality". Hoering & Romm were gays, among 1000s more top nazis. They persecuted "femmes" as weak unNordic subhumans. So which exactly gays glorified by these israelis?

lili   (01.13.14)
was consentation camp for streight Germans by the Herzegovina border, thousands of Germans were send there. The few who didn't like the famous Novelist Hanss Felada didn't reach so far but were abused by the Nazi regim in "sepcial corection institutes".
13. Not true!
Eric ,   Toronto   (01.13.14)
Israel is NOT "one of the world's most progressive countries in terms of gay rights". The most fundamental rights of getting married and adopting children are still refused to gays and lesbians. I am happily married and my husband and I have two adopted children. Our happiness is whole. Why shouldn't Israeli gays and lesbians know what complete happiness is?
14. Eric,
Liran ,   Toronto, CA   (01.13.14)
It might take a while but for now be glad that your like can walk hand in hand down the road and not be stoned to death like the rest of the region would do to you.
15. nowdays streight people don't care
ghostq   (01.14.14)
because most of gay people vote for extream left parties, the institute will ignor them, country like India which is the bigest democracy in the world out law gays. The gay comunity can only blame themselves. This public display of this holocaust evant is due to the fact someone payed city hall some extra money for lil "look at me" pr.
16. A bit hypocritical
#3   (01.15.14)
"Why should any group be identified for special remembrance over another?" Like how we remember the 6 million Jews who were murdered and leave out the 500,000 gypsies who were also killed? Try to be consistent.
