Realistically, he should never have gone into politics. The expulsion of 10,000 Jews the havoc and pain he caused so many will always be remembered as a blemish on his record. In my view we have to remember the good the fighter he was for the Jewish people one of the greatest generals Israel had and yes he was probably the engineer for many settlements toghether with the horrible.
