Hertzel ,   Tveria   (01.14.14)
As a matter of fact, Egypt's new leadership is truly a light to the nations. May they grow strong and do the right thing with these Islamists radicals.
2. It's like a birthday present!
Mira ,   Vienna   (01.14.14)
It makes my heart jump with joy! Go ahead, Sisi!
3. I'm loving this....
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (01.14.14)
Egypt is growing a huge pair.. Good for Egypt. String all Hamas players from lamp posts, that ought to do it. KEEP BUILDING !!!!
4. There is probably a dark side, but ...
Eli ,   Newton USA   (01.14.14)
it is encouraging to see Egypt confront its local manifestation of a global disease. If only other powers would do the same.
5. sissi is dead right
marcel   (01.14.14)
unlike sissi who is dead right about the bortherhood, bibi sits there with pacifists livni, lapid, mitzan, with herzog yelling from the sidelines who say rely on the US rather than our own security positions like th eUS helped to prevent 6 million from dying, you pathetic pacifists. Israel has to control its own security. and like sissi, a warning should be given about rocket fire, and if anyone fires a rocket or other munitions, israel should cut gaza in 3 sections, keep the goldstone press like attila outk, eliminate haniyeh and company, blow up all fuel depots and communications and retake philadephi and squeeze gaza into the mediterranean. Sissi is suffocationg the US backed, yes US backed brotherhood and israel should take the opportunity to do likewise instead of listening to herzog and livni, 2 pathetic pacifists. livni's government doing it her way got 150 idf killed needlessly with a bad performance against hezbollah, and her negotiations puts a smile ofn the face of hitler in the grave. Oh, sharon like livni, yes but not for her views, rather her spunk. Howver, she is do dumb, its unbelievablee.
6. now watch...
mb   (01.14.14)
...how Egypt reacts when Hamas' missiles land in their territory. And watch the world not say a word as the Egyptian military acts with full force to crush Hamas. The Egyptians won't be sending warning texts or airdropping flyers.
7. #5, I do almost agree...
Beary White ,   Norway   (01.14.14)
But, we have to know, that any foreign intervention will make Egypt and hamasss and other terror-groups to work together. I once again will phrase mrs Palin: "Let allah sort this out", and might be the hamass and the other terror-groups will be shipped to Libya, saved by the US, who supports the terror-group Muslim Brotherhood. Have we ever seen such hypocrisy before, disgrace of US to support terror,,, done by Obama ??
8. Oh, happy day!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.15.14)
See, when Israel crushes Hamas terrorists, it's called a "war crime." When Egypt does it, it's business as usual, and no one will utter a single peep ... except perhaps Abbas & Co., knowing full well that Abdullah is watching and taking notes. I am SO loving this!
9. Yay Egypt :^)
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.15.14)
10. @6. Effects of war...
Tasha ,   Chicago, Illinois   (01.15.14)
And when the Egyptian tanks and F16s and battalions role into the Sinai to crush Hamas (forbidden by treaty with Israel) Bibi won't object. But once there, they will not leave. Israel exchanges 10,000 Hamas thugs with guns and fireworks for 100,000 Egyptian solders with tanks and F16s. Right at Your Door.
11. Chaos
David ,   Bristol, UK   (01.15.14)
So the Egyptian military plans to create chaos and unrest in Gaza, to undermine basic services, and food supplies, until a million people revolt and the Hamas regime falls. I'm sure that can only work well for Israel, and with the Gaze strip in civil war, and the starving people blocked from fleeing into Egypt, they won't pull down the fences and flee north...
12. End Hamas
Al Almok ,   Cairo   (01.15.14)
The proud Egyptian army should crush the Hamas islamists. We should not bother with just causing rebellion, but invade and re-conqure the city of Gaza. In the days of the Eyptian Kings, it was once part of our empire, which reached from Nuba to Damascus in Assyria. With General Sisi to guide us, and all the new weapons from the US, there is no reason we cannot repeat our past glory and regain our ancient lands.
13. Refugees
Allan ,   NY, America   (01.15.14)
Millions have fled Syria from the civil war, flooding into Jordan, Lebannon, Iraq and Turkey, causing huge disruption. Israel was able to keep them out, closing the Golan. As the Syrians had other places to flee to it worked. When they Egyptains role into Gaza, or just bombard it to bits, where do you think 1 million people are going to flee too?
14. These boys know how to deal with a problem
frauss ,   Jerusalem   (01.15.14)
"Senior security officials are now determined to eliminate their Islamist foes for good". This should be our mantra!
15. #13 MAYBE JUST MAYBE
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (01.16.14)
The plan is to have Egypt take Gaza back. Hello! This was there land prior to 1967. State of Israel went to war to Egypt and not Palestine or Balestine if you have already converted to religion of piss. That is the most reasonable way to help Gaza. I hope you can read English well now. My words are very simple here.
16. Egypt and Hamas
Aymen ,   Dillon USA   (01.16.14)
I think Egypt ought to focus on the many problems within and but out of Palestine and it's affairs Egypt has done no good for the Palestinian population
17. Egypt's reaction
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln, USA   (01.16.14)
Egypt, as well as Israel, are doing the heavy lifting against the Iranian influence in the Middle East. Hamas is an Iranian pawn, and therefore seen as a threat to Egypt's military government. Egypt's fear of Iran's influence and potential nuclear capabilities is enough reason to curtail Hamas and cooperate with Israel. The current situation is an example of "realpolitik."It's a win situation for Israel.
