The other issue is Israel has stated they will build a tunnel between Gaza and the WB, but unless peacekeepers are sent to Gaza and the PA resumes authority over it, the tunnel will remain closed as the borders are now. So what is the point in it. A lot of economic aid will have to be spent in Gaza after or economic refugees will flood the WB which they won't be able to deal with. As with Egypt and in Syria after Assad is gone religious parties will have to be banned, which means Hamas members will have to be banned from politics or the same thing as last time will happen. Now Olmert had offered the deal to Mazen and was doing the heavy lifting in Gaza to remove Hamas for you so the PA could takeover authority which Mazen did not want too when asked and the world wanted the operation to stop. So it remains a problem that someone else is going to have to deal with.

What they don't understand, or don't care about, is that Israel is a small country and needs allies. An "ally" does not mean someone who ALWAYS agree with you. The constant attacks at the US and Europe going on here are sickening. Israel have only a few reliable friends in the world, but the talkbacker extermists seem to think that that is too much and work day and night to bring the number down to zero. Most people writing here are a greater threat to Israel's survival as a Jewish nation than any Palestinian.
