An American judge and friend once said to me that cheating on the IRS is stupid, you will eventually get caught, but not taking every legal loophole available is also stupid. Looks like Bibi isn't so stupid after all. Go, Bibi, go!

As the article states, all of Netanyahu's financial activity was allowed by law. So other than to discredit the PM, what purpose does this article serve?
14. Sorry, 1999, not 1996

It is a question of leadership and personal example. It is a question of thinking that you have the right to avoid paying taxes, while other normal citizens do not. It is a question of integrity - preaching morality to the public, while not practising what you preach. It is a question about respecting the citizens you represent. Yitzhak Rabin had a bank account in the US, from when he was ambassador there, which he forgot to close when he returned to Israel to be PM back in 1974. The public crucified him and he was forced to resign. Bibi OPENED an account in Jersey with the express purpose of utilizing a tax haven - and people here think he should get off Scot free? I will remind you that when he was Finance Minister, he clamped down on the ability for Israelis to invest in tax havens, all the while knowing that he had done so. And it doesn't matter that during the time he opened the account he was not in office - he was still receiving a stipend from the government as an ex PM! Here is a short account of Bibi's lack of respect for the people he leads and preaches to: In 1995, he went on a skiing holiday with his wife to Switzerland, at the country's expense. Last year he ordered a shower and a double bed to be installed in his airplane for a 5 hour trip to London - $500,000 at the taxpayers expense. In 1996 it was found that he had taken gifts presented to him in his capacity as PM by other national leaders, as if they were his personal property. In that same year, he contracted a home mover to move his belongings from the PM's residence in Jerusalem to his private home in the very same city (!). That cost the public 300,000 NIS. Only recently, his expense account was made public, where we were witness to gross extravagace at the taxpayers expense, from scented candles, to bloated water bills in his private home and astronomical costs for ice cream. The poor man must be receiving minimum wage to have to have us taxpayers finance his lavish whims (sic). When are we going to wake up to the fact that this man is a leech on the country's resources, while he cloaks himself in the clothing of a devout patriot and servant of the people. Come on! He expects US to serve him, not that he should serve us. If he were not a Right Wing leader, he would have been thrown out long ago. How have we sinned that we are stuck with this albatross around our necks - for 15 years already?
