1. But then Abbas order the bombing in London and Paris
(01.19.14)
So, we cannot critisize Abbas.
2. changing the narrative
tiki ,   belgium   (01.19.14)
It's time for the Europeans with their misguided accusations against Israel (for all Arab Palestinian ill's) to take of their tainted glasses which blur an objective view of the situation. It's time to dismantle the money grabbing, propaganda propelling UNWRA, for they have proven to be an unable & disturbing factor for the right (the only genuine one) of Arab Palestinians to a better and more humane life. It's time to call a spade a spade and throw all the fairy tales about Palestinian rights and stolen homelands into the dustbin. Only then there can be a solution for this conflict.
3. Time to hold Arab accountable
Leib ,   New Amsterdam   (01.19.14)
The EU will never say anything bad about the Arabs,it is only fashionable to crititzice Jews or the land of Israel , becouse the EU loves to kiss the back side from the arabs
4. It's because Europe wants to finish Hitler's work (end)
Eric R. ,   USA   (01.19.14)
5. Criticism by EU
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (01.19.14)
Perfectly explainable. Palestinians are recognized universally as the aggrieved party, true victims of Zionist crimes, including resettling of lands from which they were expelled nearly 2,000 tears ago, and everyone with any religious education at all knows why the exile took place. The EU is merely expressing humanity's outrage.
6. "Palestinians" are Israel's mortal foes.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.19.14)
Nothing else about them matters. Every other detail about them is like obsessing over the color of a mass murderer's socks. Abbas is a Holocaust denying mass murderer. What else do we need to know about him?
7. Making palestinians accountable
Michael Greenwald ,   San Diego, USA   (01.19.14)
The fact that the PA pays Gaza employees to do nothing is old news. In a klepto-patronage system, loyalty is something that is paid for. For the PA keeping them on the payroll is more important than anything UNRWA is doing. As a klepto-patronage government, the PA has nothing to gain and everything to lose by making peace. A recent world bank survey found that 99% of all Palestinians think the government is corrupt and nepotistic. After a settlement the Palestinians might want administrators and bureaucrats as leaders as opposed to terrorists and kleptocrats. They might very well give the PA the boot.
8. So you want the Euro-leopard to change it's spots?!
tom ,   tel aviv   (01.19.14)
9. Why would the EU criticize the Palestinians?
Jim Yakamoto ,   My Country   (01.19.14)
They aren't Jews. Nor are the Spanish who deny statehood to the Basque People. Neither are the Chinese who occupy Tibet and suppress any resistance and impose the death penalty when "necessary". Anyone heard the EU calling for a boycott of Putinist Russia where human rights, civil rights and Gay rights are crushed with a ruthlessness of the Stalin era? No, only Israel and Jews are vilified as they have been for thousands of years and why should this change now?
10. EU should stop feeding the "palestinians" baksheesh,
A ,   Belgium   (01.19.14)
and invest instead in improving Europes own faltering economies.
11. Interesting, isn't it?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.19.14)
How on earth are the "Palestinians" going to run a state? They cannot even manage the trillions of dollars and billions of euros that have poured into "Palestinian" coffers. And, heaven knows, except for terrorism -- what have they ever developed? They'll never have a state, but I confess that it would be interesting to see how they would plan on leveraging the world to keep funding going once their sixty year old sob story comes to an end.
12. Obama will not "post bail" at UNSC for Israel any longer
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.19.14)
13. Or perhaps?
Daniel   (01.19.14)
Perhaps the EU really DOES criticize Palestinians and other human rights abuses. Yes, they do. But Israeli media never reports about that, as it wants to strengthen the myth of the EU being anti-Israeli. The EU is the largest economic partner of Israel and cooperate in numerous areas. Unfortunately a small group of fanatic anti-Europeans want to push the EU away, and the Israeli right-wing media definitely does all it can to help.
14. Very desgusting.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (01.20.14)
With those bad and stubborn leaders, Arab Palestine can never be a State. It is a pity, and Israel has no guilt about. Long time goes on, and they don't change anything. A solution must be found for ending the stalemate, without endangering the Jewish State and without harming basic people's rights.
15. Accountability/ Probably not but lack of Euros? Maybe.
bob k ,   orlando fl us   (01.20.14)
It is infinitely more satisfying to turn Palestinians into saints who can do no wrong and continue attacking Israel than to hold the PA and Arab states accountable and say no more money these permanent 'refugees' have to work. However, the EU has economic problems and one day a movement will start that questions eternally supporting the Palestinians rather than demanding that the Arab states grant citizenship to the Palestinians they made into refugees when they attacked Israel in 1948 and 1967. Why are the Palestinians the only people who mostly live off the world?
16. @ Daniel, #13
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (01.20.14)
Then perhaps you can point out some links that will enlighten us. I read the online English language papers of half a dozen European newspapers and never see criticism of Palestine or Palestinians. Even reports of border incidents come out as Israel "breaking the cease-fire" when it responds to Palestinian rockets or mortars. European news media's criticism is based on the principle that "it all started when Israel struck back!" Enough with telling Israel to "act with restraint" when rockets fall from Gaza... tell the Palestinians to act with restraint and stop firing rockets.
