1. Between Wall Street and Israel, what's Wall Street choice?
Miron ,   USA   (01.21.14)
Too big to fail, aren't we... It's not like they are dying with clenched teeth to offer pensions to working Americans, either. So, cry me a river.
2. Of course: otherwise, how will they make enough money to
tom ,   tel aviv   (01.21.14)
ditch Israel once the "peace" takes hold and we slowly disappear from the face of ME? Indeed, money rules the world and we are "good with money", so they say....
3. Will the Palestinians accept de Jure a land swap
Zechariah   (01.21.14)
It all returns to a land swap that is Equitable and gives the Arabs shale oil in return for security in the Jordan Valley and suppression of Jihadi other fanatics and the nut cases in the Israeli Jewish spectrum.
4. funny
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (01.21.14)
I remember back in the 60's when the anti-war activists of then were outspoken in stating that the Vietnam war was good for the American economy since the Americans must produce more war equipment. Times change as do peoples' opinions.
5. To the business people.
Jules   (01.21.14)
Since you are rich and successful entrepreneurs, you are clever people. So why don't you realize that the Palestinian conflict is not territorial; it is RELIGIOUS. Which means: NO agreement would be successful, even in short term: the Arab world wants the Jewish state OUT of Palestine. All the "peace process" has always been a huge fraud from the part of the Arabs.
6. Economic Reality
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln, USA   (01.21.14)
Israel's government should seriously listen to these business people. They are much more pragmatic about this issue than the present administration.
7. Peace agreement with who?
Jayjay ,   Israel   (01.21.14)
These idiots refuse to admit there is no partner. These Arabs that p[pretend to be Palestinian only want Israel wiped out....nothing less.
8. Osem and Shtraous should be boycotted
greedy pigs   (01.21.14)
Those greedy pigs took monopoly on the Israeli market and are abusing the costumers with their prices.
9. False hopes
paulD ,   Jerusalem   (01.21.14)
Why the media pretends that the only thing standing in the way of peace is Jewish resistance. THe Jew-Hating Arab's demands precludes any possibility of peace, and the media knows it. How irresponsible and low can the media continue to ignore reality?
10. incentive to economy
Moishe ,   New York   (01.21.14)
Israel needs peace to stimulate the economy. This is obvious and is a fact , doesn't need any explanation or persuasion. However , surrender to Palestinians will never bring peace. The Palestinian issue should be removed from the agenda. Interim solution should be imposed. Let everyone forget about the peace process- and everyone will focus on their personal hopes and prosperity. This whole stupid idea and issue will be forgotten and brushed aside. The whole peace process should be put in the freezer for next 50 years.
11. not what Bennett thinks
rm ,   NL Amsterdam   (01.21.14)
he made it quite clear yesterday that prolonged occupation is the only way to save Israeli economy from going down the drain...yeah....I thought it was far-fetched too
12. The Mayor of Chelm speaks.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (01.21.14)
The israeli economy is dependent on the arabs granting us peace? What peace, what arabs? Iran, oh we forgot Iran!
13. Losers want to give up the store for nothing
Logic ,   Israel   (01.21.14)
The old Oslo consensus, agree with it or not, used to be that the Arabs get land for peace - not "partial peace", an almost Orwellian term. So now the journalistic wisdom is to give up the store for nothing - not even for non-belligerence, and in exchange we get to test an assumption that is probably not true (example: high tech grows very nicely without peace). No wonder the Israeli Left is in shambles since 1996!
14. At least now we know where the $ is coming from
Israel Tachlis ,   Jerusalem   (01.21.14)
Aside from the generous European governments I was wondering were all these lefty Arab and Pro-arab groups get all their funding and who is greasing the wheels in the Israeli government to let them keep up their mishchief
15. Strange
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.21.14)
We have not had peace for 65 years and the economy has been growing for the entire time. Right now it is getting ready to really take off - but it is depended upon Islamofascists that demand our genocide? Really? I don't think so
16. 5 Jules,they reject the Western values
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (01.21.14)
A religious Jewish State would better fit in their midst.
17. Israel grew more than any OECD member
Sever is blind   (01.21.14)
The reality is that Israel grew and continue to grow faster than any other OECD member, with or without peace. But leftists are good at ignoring the facts and ignoring reality.
18. In the ME, peace w/o security is NOT peace.
SG ,   Teaneck   (01.21.14)
19. Where have we heard this before?
tiki ,   belgium   (01.21.14)
Oslo would bring peace & prosperity! No ''aggressive'' IDF in Libanon would bring quit in the north & prosperity! No 'occupying' Israel in Gaza would bring quit in the south & prosperity! Giving back murderers to PA would bring bring peace, quit & prosperity. NOTHING, according to Arab Palestinians & friends will bring peace, EXCEPT the demise of Israel! In the meantime Israel was growing & prospering while the world was on the brink of total collapse.......without 'peace with the Palestinians. It's about time to bring the ''Palestinians" back to their appropriate size. Like they themselves say....a bunch of fugitives! Stop giving them power they don't deserve with their fantasies & sob stories.
20. true but
(01.21.14)
Israel's economy can't grow without peace, perhaps that is true. Plotzker's problem is conflating an agreement with PLO/Abbas with peace, a falsehood if ever there was one. An agreement with Abbas will lead to more war and to serious economic losses, exactly like every single agreement with PLO since the Oslo Accords. Real peace, based on the destruction of PLO and returning Abbas to Tunis will certainly lead to Israeli economic growth.
21. With peace, the Arab world will be a huge market for Israel.
Michael ,   California, USA   (01.21.14)
The market is right outside the door of Israel, easy to reach and to prosper from it. Everybody understands this.
22. Plocker thinks of European style Peace, works in Middle East?
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.21.14)
23. #19, you are wrong
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.21.14)
Even Israel disappearing will not bring Peace to either the land it vacates or the Middle East as a whole. The problems plaguing this region can be summed up in one word: Islam. Unless Islam is eradicated Muslims will not make Peace with Infidels or with each other anywhere in the world.
24. #21, stay naive
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.21.14)
Middle East is a different animal than you know from your surroundings. Arabs have no intention of having Peace with Infidels Is there Peace anywhere in this most sorry region of the world?
25. #24: Naive sez to bozo: "there is peace w/ Egypt and Jordan"
Michael ,   California, USA   (01.21.14)
26. #25, moron, what Peace, Israel embassy set on fire in Cairo
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.22.14)
27. Who is he kidding, how did Sderot economy grow?
Miron ,   USA   (01.30.14)
when there are not rumors to give up Sderot. English speaking press towards Israel is a sewer dump at best.
